Rosedale is an affluent neighbourhood in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, which was formerly the estate http://www.40whitehall. com/images/walkingtour5. JPG of William Botsford Jarvis, and so named by his wife, granddaughter of William Dummer Powell, for the wild roses that grew there in abundance. It is located north of Downtown Toronto and is one of its oldest suburbs. It is also one of the wealthiest and most highly priced neighbourhoods in Canada.
Moore Park, Toronto
Moore Park is a neighbourhood in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It lies along both sides of St. Clair Avenue East between the Vale of Avoca section of Rosedale ravine and Moore Park ravine (formerly Spring Valley ravine). The northern boundary is Mount Pleasant Cemetery and the southern the Canadian Pacific Railway tracks. Moore Park is one of Toronto's most affluent neighbourhoods. The neighbourhood takes its name from its developer, John T. Moore.
Rosedale (TTC)
Rosedale is a station on the Yonge–University–Spadina line of the subway system of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It is located at 1009 Yonge Street at Crescent Road. Despite its proximity to downtown Toronto, it is one of the lesser used stations in the subway system, reflecting its lack of high volume surface route connections and the lower population and employment density of the affluent Rosedale neighbourhood.
Summerhill (TTC)
Summerhill is a station on the Yonge–University–Spadina line of the subway system in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Its address is 1189 Yonge Street, with the entrance actually being on Shaftesbury Avenue, which is at the north end of the station platforms. The station was opened in 1954 as part of the original Yonge line. Like Rosedale Station, the next station to the south, it is currently among the less used stations, with only average weekday ridership.
Summerhill, Toronto
The Summerhill neighbourhood in central Toronto was named after 'Summer Hill' house, built in 1842 by Canadian transportation baron Charles Thompson. Much of the area was once part of the Thompson estate but was subdivided by his heirs in the 1880s. In the 1880s, the North Toronto Railway Station was established on Yonge Street and the neighbourhood of Summerhill quickly developed around it. The Railway station was rebuilt in honour of a visit by the Prince of Wales in 1916.

Rosedale Field
Rosedale Field was a grandstand stadium located in Rosedale Park in Rosedale, Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It could hold 4,000 for seating and upwards of 10,000 standing. It was home to the Toronto Argonauts from 1874-1897, and again from 1908-1915. It hosted the Canadian Dominion Football Championship game in 1892, 1894, 1896, 1900, 1905 and 1908.
Loring-Wyle Parkette
Loring-Wyle Parkette is a small plot of land, on the northeast corner of the Mount Pleasant Road and St. Clair Avenue East intersection in Toronto's Moore Park neighbourhood, dedicated to the art and memory of two famous Toronto sculptors: Frances Loring (1887–1968) and Florence Wyle (1881–1968). Until October 1976 the long, narrow property served as the Moore Park turnaround loop for the TTC's Mount Pleasant streetcar.
Toronto Lawn Tennis Club
The Toronto Lawn Tennis Club hosted the first ever National Tennis Championship of Canada and has hosted 2 Davis Cup ties. Established in 1874 by I.F. Hellmuth and located in Rosedale, the club that year played host to a tournament (for gentlemen's singles) that over time became the Canadian Open tennis championship, now known as the Rogers Cup. The Toronto LTC also played host to the first Davis Cup tie played in Canada, in July 1921.
University Of Toronto President's Estate
The University Of Toronto President's Estate is a 3.5-acre, 32 room residence for the University of Toronto's president located in the neighbourhood of Rosedale in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The property overlooks the Park Drive Reservation Ravine formed by Yellow Creek and goes from Highland Avenue halfway down to the floor of the ravine.
Catholic Missions in Canada
The church extension movement was organized in Canada as an independent society, bearing the name of "The Catholic Church Extension Society of Canada", by a group including Fergus Patrick McEvay, Archbishop of Toronto. The society was formed on 23 September 1908, by Monsignor E. Alfred Burke from the Diocese of Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. A papal brief was issued to the Church Extension Society in Canada on 9 June 1910, granting it papal approval and pontifical status.
