Clydau (sometimes Clydaï or Clydey) is a village, parish, and community in the Hundred of Cilgerran in Pembrokeshire, Wales. The village is a small group of houses around the parish church, 8 km southwest of Newcastle Emlyn and 13 km southeast of Cardigan. Although the village is tiny, the parish is large, encompassing several larger hamlets, the village of Tegryn, and a large number of scattered farms. The community consists essentially of the parishes of Clydey and West Cilrhedyn .

Afon Cych is a small river tributary to the River Teifi in south-west Wales. Its "official" source (although not its highest headwater) is at Blaencych {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:51|57|53|N|4|29|28|W| | |name= }}. It flows north-westwards through a deep, wooded, secluded valley, and joins the River Teifi at Abercych {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:52|2|36|N|4|33|34|W| | |name= }}. Its total length is 13 km.

Cilrhedyn is a hamlet and parish in the counties of Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire, Wales. It is situated in the hill country to the south of the Teifi valley. The Afon Cych divides it into two unequal parts: West Cilrhedyn, Pembrokeshire and East Cilrhedyn, Carmarthenshire. The parish church is in West Cilrhedyn. The placename is Welsh, meaning "bracken nook". The area remains a bastion of the Welsh language.
