Battle of Beersheba (1917)

The Battle of Beersheba (Turkish: Birüssebi Savaşı, also known as the Third Battle of Gaza) was fought on 31 October 1917, when two corps of the Egyptian Expeditionary Force (EEF) attacked units of the Yildirim Army Group guarding Beersheba, beginning an offensive which six weeks later resulted in the capture of Jerusalem, during the Sinai and Palestine campaign of World War I.

Nahal Beka

Nahal Beka (lit. Valley Stream) is a neighborhood in Beersheba, Israel. It is its southernmost neighborhood. In the 1990s, Nahal Beka had a large Russian immigrant population living in caravans and trailer homes. Hatzerim Airbase

Hatzerim Israeli Air Force Base is an air base of the Israeli Air Force in the Negev Desert on the west outskirts of Beersheba, near Kibbutz Hatzerim. Vasermil Stadium

The Arthur Vasermil Municipal Stadium, commonly known as the Vasermil Stadium, is a football stadium in Beersheba, Israel. The stadium is designed as an open bowl (though a small part of one side has cover), and formerly had a running track, though this has now been bricked over. Monument to the Negev Brigade

The Monument to the Negev Brigade, known locally as the Andarta, is a monument designed by Dani Karavan in memory of the members of the Palmach Negev Brigade who fell defending Israel during the 1948 Arab Israeli War. It is situated on a hill overlooking the city of Beersheba from the east and constitutes a recognized symbol of the Negev and Beersheba. In addition to its strengths as a memorial, it was a precursor to the land art movement.

Lehavim-Rahat Railway Station

Lehavim Rahat Railway Station is a station on the Israel Railways lines between Tel Aviv (and points north) and Beersheba, located near Lehavim Junction. The station was opened on June 23, 2007. It serves the suburb of Lehavim and the Bedouin community of Rahat. The station was briefly renamed to Lehavim Railway Station, or Lehavim Center Railway Station, although Rahat was added back to the name after a campaign led by Rahat's mayor, Talal al-Karnawi.

Highway 25 (Israel)

Highway 25 is a rural highway in southern Israel. It begins northwest of Nahal Oz at the border with the Gaza Strip, and it passes through Netivot, Beersheba and Dimona. Battle of Beersheba (1948)

Australian Soldier Park

The Australian Soldier Park, Beersheba, Israel is dedicated for the memory of the Australian Light Horse regiment of the British Army, that conquered the town from the Turkish Empire on World War I. The park was established in 2008 on a large area, and is maintained by a team of its own employees. On its eastern corner there is a memorial statue of a mounted Australian lighthorseman as well as documentary materiel on aluminum boards, written in three languages.
