Évry is a commune in the southern suburbs of Paris, France. It is located 25.0 km from the center of Paris, in the "new town" of Évry Ville Nouvelle, created in the 1960s, of which it is the central and most populated commune. Château de Petit-Bourg
The château de Petit-Bourg is located in Évry-sur-Seine. The first château known on the site of Petit-Bourg, on the Seine, overlooking the Forêt de Sénart, began in the 17th century for André Courtin, Canon of Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Paris and was completed about 1635 for Jean Galland. Around 1650, Monseigneur Louis Barber de La Rivière, Bishop of Langres, had gardens designed by François Mansart. Jules Hardouin-Mansart would have worked there about 1662.

Évry Cathedral
Évry Cathedral (Cathédrale de la Résurrection d'Évry) is a Roman Catholic cathedral in the new town of Évry in France. The Diocese of Corbeil or Corbeil-Essonnes was created in 1966, and the parish church of Saint-Spire was elevated to the status of the bishop's seat as Corbeil Cathedral, but neither it nor any other of the existing churches was suitable in size and location, and the bishop's offices were in a converted primary school.
Corbeil Cathedral
Corbeil Cathedral (Cathédrale Saint-Spire de Corbeil) in the town of Corbeil-Essonnes was the interim cathedral of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Évry–Corbeil-Essonnes. The bishop's seat was established at the foundation of the new diocese in 1966 in the parish church of Saint Spire in Corbeil, which thus became the cathedral.
The Forest of Sénart
Located in Essonne, it covers 3,000 hectares in area, this forest is very important to the local population. The local government has kept roads and agricultural companies from cutting down parts of this forest. There are roughly 2-3 million visitors a year, and the government spends 1.2 million euros a year maintaining the forest.

Fondation Jean Dubuffet
The Fondation Jean Dubuffet is a foundation established by artist Jean Dubuffet (1901–1985) in 1973. Its registered office is on the Rue de Moulin Neuf, Sente des Vaux-Ruelle aux Chevaux, Périgny-sur-Yerres, Val-de-Marne, with the secretariat located in the VIe arrondissement at 137 Rue de Sèvres, Paris, France. Both are open to the public; an admission fee is charged.
Château du Saussay
The château du Saussay is a French château that forms part of the commune of Ballancourt-sur-Essonne in the department of Essonne. It is situated in the valley of the river Essonne between Corbeil and La Ferté-Alais, on the territory of an old Templar commandery. It is built on the ruins of a 15th century feudal castle, and is a rare collection of two 18th century châteaux facing each other at the entrance to a Romantic park surrounded by water.
Essonne (river)
The Essonne is a 97 km long French river. It is a tributary off the left bank of the Seine. Its course crosses the departments of Loiret and Essonne, and it gives its name to the latter. The Essone's name and the present name of its higher course originate in Acionna, a Gallo-Roman river goddess attested at Orléans (Genabum).
Roman Catholic Diocese of Évry–Corbeil-Essonnes
The Roman Catholic Diocese of Évry–Corbeil-Essonnes, is a diocese of the Latin Rite of the Roman Catholic church in France. Erected in 1966 as the Diocese of Corbiel, the diocese was split off from the Diocese of Versailles. In 1988, the dioces was renamed to the Diocese of Évry–Corbeil-Essonnes. Currently the diocese remains a suffragan of the Archdiocese of Paris. The current bishop is Michel Marie Jacques Dubost, appointed in April 2000.
Lac de Viry-Châtillon
Lac de Viry-Châtillon is a lake located in the municipalities of Viry-Châtillon and Grigny in the Essonne department, France. The lake consists of five basins: étang des Nouées de Seine, étang de la Justice, étang de la Place Verte, étang de la Plaine Basse and étang de l'Arbalète.
Orge
The Orge is a 53 km long river in France, left tributary of the Seine. Its source is in the village Saint-Martin-de-Bréthencourt. Its course crosses the départements of Yvelines and Essonne. It flows northwest through the towns of Dourdan, Saint-Chéron, Breuillet, Arpajon, and Savigny-sur-Orge, finally flowing into the Seine in Athis-Mons, south of Paris.
