Peel County, Ontario

Peel County is a historic county in the Canadian province of Ontario. It was created in 1851 from a portion of York County. In 1973, Peel County became the Regional Municipality of Peel, as a result of the Ontario provincial government's regionalization of the rapidly developing counties surrounding Toronto. Named for Sir Robert Peel, Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, the county was organized in 1849. Settlers, however, were in Toronto Township as early as 1807.

Brampton Transit (BT) is public transport bus operator for the City of Brampton in the Regional Municipality of Peel, and within the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) in Ontario, Canada. Brampton Transit began operations in 1974. In May 2005, a major upgrade occurred that put more routes into a grid pattern. In 2006 Brampton Transit became Canada's fastest-growing transit system in terms of ridership.

Meadowvale, Ontario

Meadowvale is a neighbourhood located in the northwestern part of Mississauga, just west of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. In the 19th and early 20th centuries, it was a village in Toronto Township. In the 1970s, Meadowvale was selected to be the name of a new town community for the newly (1974) incorporated City of Mississauga; the name was applied to a development a few miles west along Derry Road.

Snelgrove, Ontario

Snelgrove is an historic community in Brampton, Ontario, Canada, straddling the border between Brampton and Caledon centred on the intersection of Hurontario Street and Mayfield Road. When Hurricane Hazel struck Ontario in 1954, Snelgrove received the most rainfall of any Canadian location, with 214 mm of rain. Highway 410 was recently extended to a new terminus in Snelgrove, at Hurontario Street, just north of Mayfield Road.

Chinguacousy Township, Ontario

Chinguacousy Township is a former municipality and geographic township in Peel County, Ontario. In 1973, when Peel County became the Regional Municipality of Peel, it was split in half, with the northern half becoming part of the town of Caledon, and the southern half, along with the township of Toronto Gore, joining the town of Brampton. Several historical villages were once located within Chinguacousy Township, including Churchville.

St. Edmund Campion Secondary School

St. Edmund Campion Catholic Secondary School is a high school in Brampton, Ontario, Canada. On September 2 2003, the school opened with 250 grade 9 students in Mississauga while the Brampton building was under construction. The Mississauga building was shared by grade 9 students from St. Marcellinus and John Cabot Secondary Schools. In its second year, there were grade 9 and 10 classes, and the building was shared with students from Metropolitan Andrei elementary school.
