Lorain County, Ohio
Lorain County is a county located in the northeastern part of the U.S. state of Ohio, and is considered to be a part of what is locally referred to as Greater Cleveland. According to the 2010 census, it has a population of 301,356, which is an increase of 5.9% from 284,664 in 2000. Named by early settler Heman Ely for the French province of Lorraine, its county seat is Elyria and its largest community is the Lake Erie port city of Lorain.

Lake Ridge Academy (LRA) is an independent, nonsectarian day school in North Ridgeville, Ohio, United States The school was founded in 1963 and offers co-educational classes from kindergarten through grade 12. Lake Ridge Academy is the only independent school on the west side of Cleveland and is one of the smallest private schools in the Cleveland area. The school facilities include 88 acres of open fields, wooded areas, a pond, a creek, tennis courts, Track and field track, playing fields.

Avon High School (Ohio)
Avon High School is a secondary school for grades 9-12 located in Avon, Ohio. Its enrollment neared 1000 as of the 2008-2009 school year, with a 2008 graduating class of 215. The school colors are purple and gold. The school mascot is the Eagle. The Avon Eagles are part of the West Shore Conference. They will be moving to the Southwestern Conference beginning in the 2015-2016 School Year.

Charles Berry Bridge
The Charles Berry Bridge, in Lorain, Ohio along U.S. Route 6, is the second-largest bascule bridge in the world. It was dedicated on Veterans Day in 1988. The bridge had been built in the late 1930s and in use for roughly 48 years before extensive rehabilitation was finished and the bridge was officially renamed in honor of Lorain native Charles J. Berry, a Marine who was awarded the Medal of Honor for his actions during a minor grenade battle on Iwo Jima.
Elyria (Amtrak station)
The Elyria Amtrak station is an Amtrak station in Elyria, Ohio. Located at 410 East River Road, the building is two trailers bolted together. This was the original Amtrak Cleveland Lakefront Station, moved to Elyria in 1976 when the present Cleveland Lakefront Amtrak Station was finished. Elyria is served by the Capitol Limited and Lake Shore Limited routes, both of which pass through Elyria in the middle of the night. The former New York Central Station is in downtown Elyria.
Elyria Catholic High School (Elyria, Ohio)
Elyria Catholic High School is a private Catholic high school located in Elyria, Ohio, 20 miles west of Cleveland. It is run by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Cleveland. Elyria Catholic was built in 1949 and since then has graduated more than 7,500 young men and women. A newly added physical education complex was completed in 2007 along with an economics lab. Elyria Catholic is the only Catholic high school found in Lorain County. The school colors are forest green and white.

Brookside High School
Brookside High School is a public high school located at 1812 Harris Road in Sheffield, Ohio, 22 miles west of Cleveland, Ohio. It is part of Sheffield-Sheffield Lake City School District. The current building opened in 1963. The school colors are red and black. The school mascot is the Cardinal. The school is a member of the Patriot Athletic Conference (PAC-10). The school offers Post Secondary Enrollment Options (PSEO) and has been rated excellent by the state of Ohio.

Lorain County Speedway
Lorain County Speedway is an auto racing track located in Amherst Township, Lorain County, near South Amherst, Ohio, USA opened in 1949 as a 1/3 mile dirt oval. It was paved between the 1960 and 1961 racing seasons. It is currently a 3/8-mile asphalt oval, with 12 degree banking in both turns, and slight banking on the straightaways.
All Pro Freight Stadium
All Pro Freight Stadium is a baseball park in Avon, Ohio. It is the home of the Lake Erie Crushers, a Frontier League team that began play in 2009. The ballpark has a capacity of 5,000 people and opened on June 2, 2009, with the Crushers defeating the Windy City Thunderbolts, 5-2. The naming rights to the ballpark are owned by an Avon-based transportation, warehouse, and distribution company called All Pro Freight Systems Inc.

Ohio Assembly
Ohio Assembly is a Ford Motor Company factory located in Avon Lake, Ohio. The 419-acre plant opened in 1974 to produce the Ford Econoline (now E-Series) van. It produced the Mercury Villager and Nissan Quest from 1993 through 2002, and the Ford Escape and Mercury Mariner until 2005. For 2006, the plant returned to producing E-Series vans since Lorain Assembly had been closed. It currently has 1,821 employees.
Lorain High School
Lorain High School is part of Lorain City School District and was founded in 1876, and began as a two-year high school course. In 1879, the first graduating class consisted of three members. By 1883, the high school curriculum was expanded to three years and in 1889, it was expanded to four years. In 1995, Lorain High School was closed and became Lorain Middle School, which was later closed in 2005.
