Cortlandt (Metro-North station)

The Cortlandt Metro-North Railroad station serves Cortlandt, New York in the hamlet of Crugers via the Hudson Line. Trains leave for New York City every hour on weekdays, and about every 25 minutes during rush hour. It is 38.4 miles from Grand Central Terminal and travel time to Grand Central is about 62 minutes. Cortlandt is the second newest station on the Hudson Line (and fourth newest on the Metro-North system).

New Croton Dam

The New Croton Dam, part of the New York City water supply system, stretches across the Croton River near Croton-on-Hudson, New York, about 22 miles north of New York City. Construction began in 1892 and was completed in 1906. Designed by Alphonse Fteley (1837–1903), this masonry dam is 266 feet broad at its base and 297 feet high from base to crest. Its foundation extends 130 feet below the bed of the river, and the dam contains 850,000 cubic yards of masonry.

Haverstraw Bay

Haverstraw Bay, located in New York, is the widest portion of the Hudson River. The width of Haverstraw Bay is approximately 3.4 miles (5.5 kilometers). The length approximately 5 miles (8 kilometers) from river kilometer 58 (river mile 36) at Croton Point to river kilometer 66 (river mile 41) at Stony Point. The bay is bordered by the village of Haverstraw, in Rockland County, to the west and the village of Croton-on-Hudson, in Westchester County, to the east.

Crugers (Metro-North station)

Crugers was a station on the Hudson Line of the Metro-North Railroad which served the residents of the hamlet of Crugers, New York until its closure in 1996 when it and the next station northbound, Montrose, were replaced by the Cortlandt station between them. The station, which still remains in part, was replaced as the last stage of expanding the Hudson Line to six-car high-level platforms and a track curvature at the station precluded such a conversion.

It is administered by the Croton-Harmon School District, and serves 9th-12th grade students. There were 503 students enrolled in the 2006-2007 school year. Due to an increase in students since its original construction, it was expanded in the 1950s with a gym, and then again in 2005/06 with 8 new classrooms, an auxiliary gym, and a new library.
