Morrisania, Bronx
Morrisania is the historical name for the South Bronx in New York City, New York. The name derives from the powerful and aristocratic Morris family, who at one time owned all of the Manor of Morrisania as well as much of New Jersey. The family includes Lewis Morris, 4th Lord of the Manor, and a signer of the Declaration of Independence, and Gouverneur Morris, penman of the Constitution. They are buried in the crypt at St. Ann's Church of Morrisania.
William Howard Taft High School (New York City)
William Howard Taft High School was a public high school in southwest section of the Bronx, New York City. The school was operated by the New York City Department of Education. Taft H.S. is located on Sheridan Avenue and 172nd Street in the Bronx. In the early 1970s, Taft H.S. earned a reputation as a "failing school" with many of the problems of other high schools in poor, marginalized neighborhoods in New York City.
Melrose, Bronx
Melrose is primarily a residential neighborhood geographically located in the southwestern section of the borough of The Bronx in New York City. Predominantly German-American in the 19th century it is home to the Haffen Building and was home to Haffen Brewing Company. The German population waned especially post WWII. The neighborhood until the 60s was mostly Irish and Italian. It is now primarily Latino. It adjoins the business and one-time theater area known as the Hub.
Boricua College
Boricua College is a post-secondary educational institution located in New York City in the United States. The college was designed to serve the educational needs of Puerto Ricans and other Hispanics. The school employs a largely bilingual faculty of 130 full-time and 100 part-time members. It serves a student population of 1,200. The college has four campuses: at Audubon Terrace in Washington Heights, Manhattan; in North Williamsburg, Brooklyn; in East Williamsburg, Brooklyn; and in the Bronx.
Third Avenue
Third Avenue is a north-south thoroughfare on the East Side of the New York City borough of Manhattan, running from Cooper Square north for over 120 blocks. The street leaves Manhattan and continues into The Bronx across the Harlem River over the Third Avenue Bridge north of East 129th Street to East Fordham Road at Fordham Center. It is one of the four streets that form The Hub, a site of both maximum traffic and architectural density, in the South Bronx.
Melrose (Metro-North station)
The Melrose (also known as Melrose – East 162nd Street) Metro-North Railroad station serves the residents of the Melrose section of The Bronx via the Harlem Line. It is 6.1 miles from Grand Central Terminal and is located in an open cut beneath Park Avenue at its intersection with East 162nd Street, six tenths of a mile from Yankee Stadium. Service at Melrose is limited; trains stop every 30 minutes during rush hours, every two hours mid-days and evenings.

Bronx Preparatory Charter School is a public middle and high school in the South Bronx. Comprising students in grades 5-12, Bronx Prep graduated its first class of seniors in June 2007. The school is located in a modern facility designed and constructed specifically for Bronx Prep at 3872 Third Avenue.
170th Street (IND Concourse Line)
170th Street is a local station on the IND Concourse Line of the New York City Subway, located at the Grand Concourse between East 170th and 171st Streets in the Bronx. It is served by the D train at all times except rush hours in the peak direction and the B train during rush hours. This underground station, opened on July 1, 1933, has three tracks and two side platforms. The center express track is used by the D train during rush hours in the peak direction.

Bronx Lyceum
The Bronx Lyceum was a New York City landmark erected on the southeast corner of Third Avenue and 170th Street by Henry Zeltner in 1870 across the street from his brewery. The structure was at first known as Zeltner's Hall and was surrounded by a picnic park. Following the sale of the entertainment and meeting hall by the Zeltner family, the property was called Niblo's Garden, a familiar name borrowed from an early New York opera house on Broadway, near Prince Street that was razed in 1895.
East 161st Street (Bronx)
East 161st Street is a short, major thoroughfare in the southern portion of the Bronx. The road is 1.6 mile (2.57 kilometres) long and is the best access to the Yankee Stadium. The road begins at an intersection with Jerome Avenue, a major thoroughfare in the Bronx, and Woodycrest Avenue, a one-way street in the Bronx. The road is one of the widest in the Bronx, until the Sheridan Avenue intersection, where the divided highway merges. East 161st Street ends at Elton Avenue.
Bronx Museum of the Arts
The Bronx Museum of the Arts is a cultural institution located in the New York City borough of The Bronx. The museum focuses on contemporary and 20th century works created by American artists, and it has hosted exhibitions of art and design from Latin America, Africa and Asia. Its permanent collection consists of more than 800 paintings, sculptures, photographs and works on paper.
Morris High School (Bronx, New York)
Morris High School was a high school in the borough of the Bronx in New York City. It was built in 1897. It was the first high school built in the Bronx. Originally named Peter Cooper High School, the name was changed to Morris High School to commemorate a famous Bronx landowner, Gouverneur Morris, one of the signers of the United States Constitution and credited as author of its Preamble.

Kent Theater
The Kent Theater in The Bronx, located on 167th street between the Grand Concourse and Sheridan Avenue, was opened in the 1930s and closed early 1990s. Terminator 2 was the last show at the theater before being converted to a 99 cent store.
Jonathan Levin High School for Media and Communications
Jonathan Levin High School for Media and Communications is a public high school located in The Bronx, New York City. It is one of six smaller specialty high schools located on the campus of the former William H. Taft High School, which was closed in 2008 and divided into separate collocated specialty schools. Jonathan Levin H.S. specializes in the development of skills used in the film industry through hands-on training. The school has a small enrollment: 445 students as of 2009.
Validus Preparatory Academy
Validus Preparatory Academy is a small public high school in the south Bronx, New York. Founded in 2005, Validus currently enrolls 432 students in grades 9-12. Validus Prep has received a score of "well-developed" on the NYC Department of Education's School Quality Review all three years they have been reviewed and is considered a top new small high school in the city.
