The Bronx
The Bronx is the northernmost of the five boroughs of New York City. Coextensive with Bronx County, it was the last of the 62 counties of New York State to be incorporated. Located north of Manhattan and Queens, and south of Westchester County, the Bronx is the only borough that is located primarily on the mainland (a very small portion of Manhattan, the Marble Hill neighborhood, is physically located on the mainland, due to the rerouting of the Harlem River in 1897).
Happy Land fire
The Happy Land fire was an arson fire that killed 87 people trapped in an unlicensed social club called "Happy Land" (at 1959 Southern Boulevard) in the West Farms section of The Bronx, New York, on March 25, 1990. Most of the victims were young ethnic Hondurans celebrating Carnival. Unemployed Cuban refugee Julio González, whose former girlfriend was employed at the club, was arrested shortly after and ultimately convicted of arson and murder.
Morrison Avenue – Soundview (IRT Pelham Line)
Morrison Avenue – Soundview is a local station on the IRT Pelham Line of the New York City Subway. It is served by the 6 train at all times and is located at Morrison Avenue and Westchester Avenue in the Soundview neighborhood of the Bronx. This elevated station has three tracks and two side platforms. The center track is used by the <6> train on weekdays in the peak direction.
West Farms Square – East Tremont Avenue (IRT White Plains Road Line)
West Farms Square – East Tremont Avenue (formerly 177th Street) is a local station on the IRT White Plains Road Line of the New York City Subway. Located at the intersection of East Tremont Avenue and Boston Road in the Bronx, it is served by the 2 train at all times, and the 5 train at all other times except during late nights and rush hours in the peak direction. This very high elevated station, opened on November 26, 1904 and situated on a curve, has three tracks and two side platforms.
East 180th Street (IRT White Plains Road Line)
East 180th Street (originally East 180th Street – Morris Park Avenue) is an elevated station on the IRT White Plains Road Line of the New York City Subway, in the Bronx at the intersection of East 180th Street and Morris Park Avenue. It is served by the 2 and 5 trains at all times. It opened on March 3, 1917, and has two island platforms and three tracks.
West Farms, Bronx
West Farms is a residential neighborhood in a west central part of The Bronx, New York City, also known as the northeast corner of the South Bronx. The neighborhood is part of Bronx Community Board 6. Its boundaries, starting from the north and moving clockwise are: Bronx Park to the north, the Bronx River Parkway to the east, the Cross-Bronx Expressway to the south, and Crotona Avenue to the west. East Tremont Avenue is the primary thoroughfare through West Farms.
180th Street – Bronx Park (IRT White Plains Road Line)
The 180th Street – Bronx Park station was the former terminal station for the IRT White Plains Road Line of the New York City Subway. The station had two tracks and an island platform and two side platforms. The tracks ended at bumper blocks at the north end of the platforms. The line was originally intended to extend farther north but was changed into a terminal during construction due to protests stating that the trains running over the park would be bad for animals in the Bronx Zoo.

It was also referred to as the "Starlight Park Stadium".
Starlight Park
Starlight Park was an American amusement park, near West Farms Square on the Bronx River in the New York City borough of The Bronx, New York, from 1918 to 1932. It was first called Exposition Park, as the grounds were originally laid out from 1917 to 1918 for the Bronx International Exposition of Science, Arts and Industries in 1918. It was renamed shortly after the exposition's close.
