Horace Mann School

The Horace Mann School is an independent college preparatory school in New York City, founded in 1887. Horace Mann is a member of the Ivy Preparatory School League, educating students from all across the New York tri-state area from nursery school to the twelfth grade. Fieldston, Bronx

Fieldston is a section of the Riverdale section of the Bronx, New York City. It is bounded by Manhattan College Parkway to the south, Henry Hudson Parkway to the west, 250th Street to the north and Broadway to the east. The area is home to two private schools: the Horace Mann School, and the Ethical Culture Fieldston School. The Riverdale Country School, the third of the three prestigious "Hill Schools" is just outside Fieldston to the north.

Gaelic Park

The Gaelic Park Sports Centre (Irish: Páirc na nGael), often abbreviated Gaelic Park, is a multi-purpose outdoor athletics facility in Kingsbridge in the Bronx, New York. Van Cortlandt Park–242nd Street (IRT Broadway–Seventh Avenue Line)

Van Cortlandt Park–242nd Street is the northern terminal station on the IRT Broadway–Seventh Avenue Line of the New York City Subway. Located at the intersection of 242nd Street and Broadway in the Bronx, it is served by the 1 train at all times. It is adjacent to Van Cortlandt Park, Manhattan College, and the 240th Street Yard of the subway system. To the west are the affluent neighborhoods of Fieldston and Riverdale. Draddy Gymnasium

Draddy Gymnasium is a 2,345-seat multi-purpose arena in the Bronx, New York. It is located on the campus of Manhattan College and is the home of the Manhattan Jaspers athletic teams. The building has the largest indoor track in New York City. It was named in the honor of alumni Vincent dePaul Draddy. The Draddy Gymnasium was featured in Season 1 of The Cosby Show where Clifford Huxtable trained and ran in a relay race rematch of former college acquaintances.

The 1989 firebombing of the Riverdale Press was an attack in which two firebombs were thrown at the offices of a weekly newspaper, the Riverdale Press, in the Riverdale community of the Bronx, New York City on February 28, 1989. The building was heavily damaged. The bombing took place shortly after the newspaper published an editorial defending Salman Rushdie during the controversy over The Satanic Verses.
