Rooksbury Mill

Rooksbury Mill is an old watermill in Andover, Hampshire, England, and a Grade II listed building. The building and its associated structures are privately owned, but the surrounding land is owned by the Test Valley Borough Council and managed as a local nature reserve. Although the present mill building dates from the late 16th or early 17th century, Rooksbury Mill may be one of the eleven mills that, according to the Domesday Book, existed in Andover in 1089.

Andover Priory

Andover Priory was an alien priory of Benedictine monks in Andover, Hampshire, England. After the conquest, William I bestowed several gifts on the Benedictine abbey of St. Florent, Saumur, these included the church of Andover, with a hide and 14 acres of land, tithes of all the demesne lands in the parish, and extensive pasture rights, with wood for fuel, for fencing and for building purposes.

Balksbury

Balksbury is the site of a former Bronze Age hillfort to the southwest of Andover, Hampshire. Originally triangular in shape, most of it has been destroyed by the A303 Andover Bypass, and a large housing development. Only the very southwest parts survive, visible, and up to 1m in height. It was a large hillfort first occupied in the Late Bronze Age, and probably had rather a nice view over the confluence of Pillhill brook and the River Anton, below and to the southeast.

Bury Hill

Bury Hill is the site of a former Iron Age hillfort about 1.5 miles southwest of the centre of Andover, Hampshire. The site encloses about 22 acres . There are evident two stages to the construction of the fort, the first is a low single rampart and ditch, to the north and west of the second, stronger double rampart and ditch earthworks, part of which overlies the earlier work. The banks and the ditch are apparently in good condition, although fairly heavily wooded.
