Durrington Walls

Durrington Walls is the site of a large Neolithic settlement and later henge enclosure located in the Stonehenge World Heritage Site. It is 2 miles north-east of Stonehenge in the parish of Durrington, just north of Amesbury. Excavations on the site by a team led by the University of Sheffield, support an estimate of a community of several thousand, thought to be the largest one of its age in north-west Europe.

Amesbury Abbey

Amesbury Abbey, also known as the Abbey of St Mary and St Melor, was a Benedictine abbey at Amesbury in Wiltshire, founded by Queen Ælfthryth in about the year 979 on what may have been the site of an earlier monastery. The foundation was dissolved in 1177.

Milston

Milston is a civil parish in Wiltshire situated approximately 12 miles north of Salisbury and is separated from neighbouring Durrington by the River Avon. The name is derived from the Old English midlest tūn, meaning "middlemost farm/settlement". It consists of two hamlets: Milston and Brigmerston, plus some farm buildings on the Salisbury Plain. The Milston hamlet contains a small grade II* listed Saxon chapel dedicated to St Mary.
