The museum is the United Kingdom national museum of army communications. It presents the role of communications in wars and military campaigns over the last 150 years. RAF Tarrant Rushton

RAF Tarrant Rushton was a Royal Air Force station near the village of Tarrant Rushton east of Blandford Forum in Dorset, England from 1943 to 1947. Tarrant Abbey was an abbey in Tarrant Crawford, Dorset, England. The abbey was founded in the 12th century by Ralph de Kahaines as a Cistercian nunnery, later supposedly the richest in England. Two famous people are associated with the abbey. The first is Queen Joan, the wife of Alexander II of Scotland and daughter of King John of England (Richard I's brother and successor) who is buried in the grave yard (supposedly in a golden coffin).
