River Avon, Devon
The River Avon, also known as the River Aune, is a river in the county of Devon in the south of England. It rises in the southern half of Dartmoor National Park in an area of bog to the west of Ryder's Hill. Close to where the river leaves Dartmoor a dam was built in 1957 to form the Avon reservoir. After leaving the moor it passes through South Brent and then Avonwick and Aveton Gifford and flows into the sea at Bigbury on Sea.

Bigbury
Bigbury is a village and civil parish in the South Hams district of Devon, England. According to the 2001 census it had a population of 582. The parish council meets on the second Wednesday of every month at 7.30pm in Bigbury Memorial Hall (excluding August & January). The village of Bigbury has a pub called the Royal Oak, and a shop called the Bigbury Village Stores. Bigbury's church (dedicated to St Lawrence) is partly early 14th century and partly as rebuilt by J. D. Sedding in 1872.

Bolt Tail
Bolt Tail is a headland in Devon, England. It is located immediately to the southwest of Hope Cove in the South Hams district, at grid reference SX670397. Bolt Tail is the site of an Iron Age promontory fort, although little evidence now remains of this structure, it occupied a classic promontory defended from inland by a linear earthwork at some 60 metres above sea level.
Hope Cove
Hope Cove is a small seaside village within the civil parish of South Huish in South Hams District, Devon, England. It is located some 5 miles west of Salcombe and 5 miles south-west of Kingsbridge. It has two beaches, and is sheltered by the headland of Bolt Tail. Historically, the village falls into two parts — Outer Hope and Inner Hope. Inner Hope fell within the parish of Malborough until the 1970s, when it was united with its neighbour on the other side of a small headland.
SS Louis Sheid
The SS Louis Sheid was a 6,057 ton Belgian steamer which ran aground off Devon after escaping U-47 following the rescue of the captain and crew of the freighter MV Tajandoen on 7 December 1939. The Louis Shied measured 420ft long with a beam of 55 ft. She was built by Nord Werft of Wesermunder under the name Ultor and renamed Kendal Castle prior to being badged Louis Sheid for the Belgian National Shipping Line.
