Little Stainton

Little Stainton is a village in the borough of Darlington and the ceremonial county of County Durham, England. It is situated a few miles west of Stockton-on-Tees. It is, in fact, a hamlet rather than a village, consisting of houses and farms that have no local service facilities except for a public telephone kiosk and bus stop. Until around 1960, it consisted of a group of individual farms, to which was added a set of four council houses with agricultural dwelling restrictions.

RAF Middleton St. George

RAF Middleton St. George was a Royal Air Force (RAF) Bomber Command station during World War II. It was located in County Durham, five miles east of Darlington, England. The airfield began its life as Royal Air Force Station Goosepool, and in 1941 became RAF Middleton St. George. The aerodrome opened as a Bomber Command station in 1941. In 1943 it was allocated to No. 6 Group, Royal Canadian Air Force. A sub-station was located at RAF Croft, Yorkshire.
