Eaglescliffe
Eaglescliffe is a small town in the borough of Stockton-on-Tees in North East England. It is on the north bank of the River Tees and for ceremonial purposes is in County Durham. The bridge at Eaglescliffe on the border with Yarm marked the last crossing point of tidal section of the River Tees until a five arch stone toll bridge was built in 1771 in Stockton on Tees. This bridge was replaced in 1887 by the Victoria Bridge, now a grade ll listed building.

St Mary Magdalene, Yarm
St Mary Magdalene is a Church of England parish church in the town of Yarm, Stockton-on-Tees. Administratively, it is a parish of the Diocese of York. The current rector is the Reverend John Ford. The current church building is the third to stand on the site. The first was a wooden Saxon building of which no traces remain. A Norman church was built in the late 12th Century and remained until 1728 when it razed by fire. The present Georgian church was built from the remains of the second in 1730.

The parish church of St John the Baptist, Egglescliffe is an Anglican church in the village of Egglescliffe, Stockton-on-Tees. It is a perpendicular church, built in the Norman style. There has been a church on the site for at least 900 years, however the original date of construction is unknown. It is claimed that there is an underground tunnel from the church to the Friarage in the grounds Yarm School.

Yarm Methodist Church is a Methodist church in the town of Yarm in the borough of Stockton-on-Tees. It is of an unusual design, being octagonal in shape. Built in 1763, John Wesley wrote in his Journal : I preached about noon at Potto and in the evening in the New House at Yarm, by far the most elegant in England. A large congregational attended at five in the morning and seemed to be just ripe for the exhortation - Let us go on and perfection.

Ofsted inspectors commented “Yarm is an outstanding school as evidenced most notably in the high standards pupils attain and in the exceptional curriculum, care and support provided. ” Because of the report, the school was placed within the top 6% of primary schools nationally.
