Meadowfield
Meadowfield is a small village in County Durham, England, situated approximately 2 miles south-west of Durham on the A690. It is situated within the civil parish of Brandon and Byshottles. The village consists mainly of one road of terraced housing that runs from Langley Moor in the north-east to Willington and Crook in the south-west. Directly to the north is the large village of Brandon. This was the site of a pit and also a brick works.

Neville's Cross is a place in County Durham, in England. It is situated on the A167 trunk road to the west of the centre of Durham. The area is primarily residential, although there is a newsagent, some public houses and a primary school located there. The suburb was also home to part of New College Durham until the college consolidated onto its site at Framwellgate Moor in 2005.
Browney
Browney is a village in County Durham, England. It is situated to the south-west of Durham and adjoins Meadowfield. It is part of the parish of Brandon and Byshottles. Browney Colliery closed in 1938. The Browney Wesleyan Chapel was built in 1887, to seat 270, and cost £400. Browney British School was built in 1881 by the colliery owners, and consisted of mixed and infants, with accommodation for 407 in all, the average attendance being 309 in 1892.
Lanchester Valley Railway Path
The Lanchester Valley Railway Path is located in County Durham, in Northeast England. It uses the route of the Lanchester Valley Railway, originally built by the North Eastern Railway to carry iron ore to Consett Steelworks from Middlesbrough. The single-track line opened in 1862, with stations at: Durham; Bearpark; Witton Gilbert; Lanchester; Knitsley; and Consett. Regular passenger services closed in May 1939, although occasional miners gala excursion trains continued until 1954.
Durham Miners Heritage Centre
The Durham Miners Heritage Centre was a museum, now closed, run by the Durham Miners Heritage Group at Neville's Cross, Durham, England. It had a display of coal mining memorabilia and an exhibition of art. One of the main reasons for the display was to educate the next generation of children about the mining past of County Durham and to give opportunities to research coal mining history, especially local school groups in the area and visitors to the city.
