Bishop Auckland
Bishop Auckland is a market town and civil parish in County Durham in north east England. It is located about 12 miles northwest of Darlington and 12 miles southwest of Durham at the confluence of the River Wear with its tributary the River Gaunless. According to the 2001 census, Bishop Auckland has a population of 24,392. Much of the town's early history surrounds the bishops of Durham and the establishment of a hunting lodge, which later became the main residence of the Bishops of Durham.

Bishop Barrington School
Bishop Barrington School is a co-educational comprehensive school in the town of Bishop Auckland, Co Durham, England. The school has around 700 students and is a specialist Sports College and Mathematics and Computing College. It was established in 1810 in the town's market place and named after, the then Bishop of Durham, Shute Barrington, who was a notable patron of education. Today the school is based on Woodhouse Lane opposite St John's Catholic School and Bishop Auckland College.

Bishop Auckland Hospital is a small NHS district general hospital serving the western part of County Durham, with a primarily rural catchment area centred on the Wear Valley. It was opened in 2002 and then had around 286 beds, but this number has since been cut substantially. There has been much controversy over the recent 'decline of services' in this hospital. The hospital is part of the County Durham and Darlington Foundation Trust.

Bishop Auckland Town Hall
Bishop Auckland Town Hall is a Grade II* listed building located in the town of Bishop Auckland, Co Durham, England. The building was completed in 1862 and is a "Gothic style" Victorian Building overlooking the town's market place. The town hall was designed by John Philpott Jones for Bishop Auckland Town Hall and Market Company Ltd. The money to build it was raised privately by the issue of shares in the company.
