Katowice
Katowice is a city in Silesia in southern Poland, on the Kłodnica and Rawa rivers (tributaries of the Oder and the Vistula respectively). Katowice is located in the Silesian Highlands, about 50 km north of the Silesian Beskids (part of the Carpathian Mountains) and about 100 km southeast of the Sudetes Mountains. It is the central district of the Upper Silesian Metropolis, with a population of 2.2 million to 3.5 million.
Wujek Coal Mine
Wujek Coal Mine is a coal mine in Katowice, Poland. It is widely known in Poland as the place of the massacre of striking miners in 1981 (most often referred-to by the euphemism 'Pacification'). Mining operations began in the vicinity as early as the 16th century. The present mine, Oheim, was established in 1899 by a merger of six mining operations existing in Silesia (then a part of Germany). The peak Polish production was in 1979 (3.88 million tons that year).

Kościuszko Park
The Kosciuszko Park, which has existed since 1925, is one of the most famous and frequented parks in Katowice, Poland. It is situated at the street of the same name. Its foundation dates back to 1888 when a municipal park was founded on the 6 ha area of suburban grove. The present area of the park is 72 ha. Its arrangement is influenced by English gardens-parks, which is emphasized by an alley of roses turned to wild.

Parachute Tower Katowice (Polish: Wieża spadochronowa w Katowicach) is a 50 metre tall lattice parachute tower built in 1937 for training parachute jumps. It was used in the first days of World War II by the 73rd infantry regiment as an observation tower. The parachute Tower in Katowice is the only existing parachute tower in Poland.

The Pałac Goldsteinów or Goldstein Palace is neo-renaissance palace, which was built by two brothers, Abraham and Joseph Goldstein. Drapacz Chmur
Drapacz Chmur (English: Skyscraper) is a historical building in Katowice, Silesia, Poland. It was the first skyscraper built in post-World War I Poland. Finished in 1934 after five years of construction, it made pioneering Polish use of steel frame construction. Today, Drapacz Chmur is considered the most spectacular and beautiful example of functionalism in Poland. The building has seventeen stories, fourteen above the ground, and contained one of the first garbage chutes in Poland.
Stalexport Skyscrapers
The Stalexport skyscrapers are twin skyscrapers (Tower A and Tower B) located in Katowice, Silesia, Poland. The buildings share a three-story base. They were designed by Yugoslavian architect Georg Gruićić in the late 1970s and finished in 1981 and 1982, respectively. The total floor area is 27,183 m². The towers were originally designed for the Centre for Foreign Trade. They now contain over 700 offices.
Great Synagogue (Katowice)

It is situated in the northern part of Upper Silesian Coal Basin a home of altogether 5 million people, the southwest border of the Rybnik Coal Area and west borders with the Ostrava urban area. Covers 3,200 km² and about 3,5 million people.
Katowice railway station
Katowice railway station is a railway station in Katowice, Silesia, Poland and is the biggest and most important railway station in the Upper Silesian Industrial Region. Both the domestic and the international connections run from there to almost every major city in Poland and Europe. The station, finished in the 1972, is an example of modern architecture. The majority of trains are operated by Polskie Koleje Państwowe. The railway main hall style is that of late modern architecture.
St. Michael's church, Katowice

It's located in Kościuszko Park, where it was moved in 1938 from the village Syrynia, where it was originally constructed in 1510. It is under the invocation of St. Michael. It has end-fitted log framework construction and shingled roof. Free-standing belltower was completed before 1679; it has historic lych-gate and wooden fence around the churchyard.

Silesia City Center is a shopping mall in Katowice, Silesia, Poland. It was opened in 2005 and it is the biggest mall in Europe. Its total area covers a few thousand square metres, of which 65 000 sq metres is a trade zone, 100 000 sq metres is a housing estate and 60 000 sq metres is an office site. It is situated in Katowice along 107 Chorzowska Road (the land previously belonged to the coal mine KWK Gottwald). The edifice was opened 18 November 2005.
