Islamic Centre Hamburg
The Islamic Centre Hamburg is one of the oldest Shia mosques in Germany and Europe. Established in Hamburg, in northern Germany, in the late 1950s by a group of Iranian emigrants and business people it rapidly developed into one of the leading Shia centres in the Western world. Many leading Iranian theologians and politicians have spent time (often years) here, have encountered and studied Western sciences and philosophy and contributed to the Western understanding of Shia Islam.
Bouches-de-l'Elbe
Bouches-de-l'Elbe is the name of a département of the First French Empire in present Germany that survived three years. It is named after the mouth of the river Elbe. It was formed in 1811, when the region, originally belonging partially to Bremen-Verden (which in 1807 had been intermittently incorporated into the Kingdom of Westphalia), to Hamburg, Lübeck and Saxe-Lauenburg, was annexed by France. Its territory is part of the present German lands Lower Saxony, Schleswig-Holstein and Hamburg.
German Open Tennis Championships
The German Open Hamburg, established in 1892, is an annual tennis tournament for male professional players held in Hamburg, Germany and part of the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) Tour. Originally a Grand Prix Tennis Tour event between 1978 and 1989 it was part of the Grand Prix Championship Series. The tournament is played on clay courts at the tennis center Am Rothenbaum. In the past, it was contested in May, as a precursor to the French Open. Currently, it is held in July instead.

St. Matthew's Church in Winterhude, Hamburg, is a brick Lutheran church built from 1910 to 1912 in the baroque style. The church is adorned with the colorful windows of Charles Crodel, who also made the stained-glass windows for the main church of St. James's and for St. Mary's Church in Fuhlsbüttel. Siege of Hamburg
The city of Hamburg was one of the most powerful fortresses east of the Rhine. It opened in 1968 and is located in the city's quarter of Winterhude. It hosts mainly indoor sporting events, pop/rock concerts & trade shows. The 1978 World Fencing Championships were held here. In July 2010, all matches of the FIBA Under-17 World Championship 2010 were played in this hall.
Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hamburg
The Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hamburg is one of the larger universities of music in Germany. It was founded 1950 as Staatliche Hochschule für Musik (Public university of music) on the base of the former private acting school of Annemarie Marks-Rocke and Eduard Marks. Studies include various music types from church music over Jazz to pop music, composition, conducting, instrumental music as well as voice. The theatre academy offers courses in drama and opera and directing in these fields.
Sportplatz at Rothenbaum
Sportplatz am Rothenbaum was a multi-use stadium in Hamburg, Germany. It was used mostly for football matches and hosted the home matches of Hamburger SV. The stadium was able to hold 27,000 people and opened in 1910. It was eventually replaced by Volksparkstadion in 1963 and was closed for good in 1997.

It is proud of having educated some of Germany's political leaders as well as some of Germany's notable scientists. The school is operated and financed by the city of Hamburg.

Stavenhagenhaus
The Stavenhagenhaus is a baroque brick manor house in the Hamburg borough of Groß Borstel. The property became a summer residence for wealthy Hamburg citizens from 1651. The current house was built in the early 18th century by the cloth merchant Eybert Tiefbrunn, and his coat of arms is still found over the main entrance door, with the year 1703. The building is a rare example of a baroque brick building from the era.
