Bouches-de-l'Elbe
Bouches-de-l'Elbe is the name of a département of the First French Empire in present Germany that survived three years. It is named after the mouth of the river Elbe. It was formed in 1811, when the region, originally belonging partially to Bremen-Verden (which in 1807 had been intermittently incorporated into the Kingdom of Westphalia), to Hamburg, Lübeck and Saxe-Lauenburg, was annexed by France. Its territory is part of the present German lands Lower Saxony, Schleswig-Holstein and Hamburg.

The University of Hamburg is a university in Hamburg, Germany. It was founded on 28 March 1919 by Wilhelm Stern and others. It grew out of the previous Allgemeines Vorlesungswesen and the Kolonialinstitut (Colonial Institute) as well as the Akademisches Gymnasium. There are around 40,000 students as of the end of 2011. In spite of its relatively short history, 6 Nobel Prize Winners and serials of scholars are affiliated to the University.
German Open Tennis Championships
The German Open Hamburg, established in 1892, is an annual tennis tournament for male professional players held in Hamburg, Germany and part of the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) Tour. Originally a Grand Prix Tennis Tour event between 1978 and 1989 it was part of the Grand Prix Championship Series. The tournament is played on clay courts at the tennis center Am Rothenbaum. In the past, it was contested in May, as a precursor to the French Open. Currently, it is held in July instead.
Siege of Hamburg
The city of Hamburg was one of the most powerful fortresses east of the Rhine. After being freed from Napoleonic rule by advancing Cossacks and other following allied troops it was once more occupied by Marshal Davout's French XIII Corps on 28 May 1813, at the height of the campaign for Germany in the Napoleonic Wars, or the War of the Sixth Coalition from French rule and occupation.

The Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hamburg is one of the larger universities of music in Germany. It was founded 1950 as Staatliche Hochschule für Musik (Public university of music) on the base of the former private acting school of Annemarie Marks-Rocke and Eduard Marks. Studies include various music types from church music over Jazz to pop music, composition, conducting, instrumental music as well as voice. The theatre academy offers courses in drama and opera and directing in these fields.
Sportplatz at Rothenbaum
Sportplatz am Rothenbaum was a multi-use stadium in Hamburg, Germany. It was used mostly for football matches and hosted the home matches of Hamburger SV. The stadium was able to hold 27,000 people and opened in 1910. It was eventually replaced by Volksparkstadion in 1963 and was closed for good in 1997.

Wilhelm-Gymnasium (Hamburg)
The Wilhelm-Gymnasium is a university preparatory school in Hamburg, Germany. It is one of Hamburg's oldest schools. It was founded in 1881 and called Neue Gelehrtenschule (transl. New Academic school) and soon became a rival of the Academic school of the Johanneum. In 1883 it was renamed Wilhelm Gymnasium to honour the then-present German Emperor, Wilhem I. Birdland (Hamburg)
Birdland is a jazz club in Hamburg. The basement club is located in the Eimsbüttel district on Gärtnerstraße. It was opened in 1985 by Dieter Reichert. The club is supported by Jazz Federation Hamburg e. V which organizes the event and allows its members to attend performances free of charge.
