Nepean High School (Ottawa)
Nepean High School is a high school in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It is located in Westboro, at 574 Broadview Avenue. There were 1160 students enrolled for 2011-2012. Patrick McCarthy is the current principal (since Sept. 2012) replacing Rene Bibaud, the principal from 2007 to 2012. The two vice principals are Peter Wilson and Kim Elmer. The school began as a continuation program at Broadview Public School.
Whitehaven, Ottawa
Whitehaven is a neighbourhood about 10 kilometres west of downtown Ottawa. It is bounded by Carling Avenue to the north, Woodroffe Avenue to the east, the OC Transpo Transitway to the west and highway 417 to the south. Whitehaven was developed on the lands of Fox farm starting in the 1950s. The Fox farm homestead can still be found on Fox Crescent in the north part of the neighbourhood with its windmill tower now shaded by a large tree.
Maplelawn
Maplelawn is an historic house and former estate located in Ottawa, Canada. The house was built between 1831 an 1834 as the centre of a farming estate by the Thomson family. In 1877 the Cole family bought the estate and lived there until 1989. The house is now owned by the National Capital Commission and it is a designated national historic site. It is particularly noted for the well preserved and rare walled garden next to the house, The Maplelawn Garden.
Glabar Park
Glabar Park is a neighbourhood in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada's west end. It is bounded on the west by Woodroffe Avenue, north by Carling Avenue, south by The Queensway and on the east Maitland Drive and by McKellar Heights. Its population is about 1,700. The neighbourhood was first built in the late 1940's, 1950's and 1960's. In 1985 townhouses on Esterlawn Drive were built which is off Fairlawn Drive just behind Fairlawn Mall.
Notre Dame High School (Ottawa)
Notre Dame High School is a Catholic high school in Ottawa's west operated by the Ottawa-Carleton Catholic School Board. The school is one of the first in the area to use a uniform and one of the first in the board to ban the use of cell phones and MP3 players on the campus. The school is mainly two storeys throughout, except for the northeast corner where it features a basement in which the classrooms are almost exclusively for mathematics.
Carlingwood Mall
Carlingwood Mall (or also called Carlingwood Shopping Centre) is a major mall located in the west end of the city of Ottawa, Ontario. It is operated by 20 Vic Management Incorporated. The mall opened in 1956 and was one of the city's first major shopping centres.
Woodroffe North
Woodroffe North is a neighbourhood in Ottawa, Ontario. It is bounded on the south by the former CPR right-of-way, on the north by the Sir John A. Macdonald Parkway and on the east and west by National Capital Commission (NCC) property which is part of or adjacent to the Sir John A. Macdonald Parkway. Woodroffe North has also been referred to as a community within the neighbourhood of Westboro (also known as Westboro Village) which claims its western border to be Woodroffe Avenue.

J. H. Putman Public School is a small, dual track middle school located in the west end of Ottawa, Ontario. This school offers students a choice of English (with Core French) and French immersion programs as well as specialized instrumental music, visual arts and sports. The school offers Special Education and English Language Support, and houses a system Behaviour Intervention Program (BIP) classroom. J. H.
McKellar Park
McKellar Park is a park and sub-neighbourhood of Westboro, in the City of Ottawa, in the province of Ontario that lies to the North of the Queensway and west of Broadview Avenue. It is considered a trendy and expensive area, being close to the Westboro Village. The park has a small outdoor swimming pool, two soccer fields, two tennis courts, a baseball park and a brand new playground.
D. Roy Kennedy Public School
D. Roy Kennedy is a public elementary and middle school in the Bay Ward of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, offering classes from kindergarten to grade 8. It is located at the corner of Woodroffe Avenue and Lenester Avenue in Ottawa's Glabar Park neighbourhood. The school is named after D. Roy Kennedy, who would in later years become a prominent Kiwanian and Ottawa educator. The school is notable for its music program, and its emphasis on French immersion.
Woodpark, Ottawa
Woodpark is a small neighbourhood in the west end of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It is bounded in the north by Richmond Road, to the East by Woodroffe Avenue north, in the South by Carling Avenue and in the West by the Sir John A. Macdonald Parkway. It is largely residential with commercial only on Carling Avenue. There is only one small park, New Orchard Park, within its boundaries, but both the Parkway and part of the Byron Strip are adjacent to it. It has no schools or churches.
Fairlawn Centre
Fairlawn Plaza is a strip mall on Carling Avenue in Ottawa-West, Ontario, Canada. The mall opened in the 1961 when the plaza's original tenants were Steinberg's grocery store and J. Pascal Hardware. Miracle Mart was also one of the early tenants. Canadian Tire was a tenant for many years until it closed in 2009 and moved to a new super-store location at Carling and Clyde Avenue. The Royal Bank of Canada also had a branch at the plaza.
