Bryce Jordan Center
Bryce Jordan Center is a 15,261-seat multi-purpose arena in University Park, Pennsylvania, United States. The arena opened in 1995 and is the largest such venue between Philadelphia and Pittsburgh. It replaced Rec Hall as the home to the Pennsylvania State University Nittany Lions men's and women's basketball team, the Pride of the Lions Pep Band, and for the men, its student section, Nittany Nation.
HUB–Robeson Center
The HUB–Robeson Center, commonly referred to as the "HUB" is the student union building centrally located on the University Park campus of Pennsylvania State University. It was originally built in 1953 and had major renovations done in 1973 and 1983. The most recent round of expansions and renovations was begun in May 1997, adding 91,000 square feet to the existing 154,000-square-foot building.
Smeal College of Business
The Smeal College of Business at the Pennsylvania State University offers undergraduate, graduate, and executive education programs to more than 5,000 students. Smeal, which is accredited in business and accounting by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), is home to more than 150 faculty members who teach and conduct academic research on a range of business topics. The college also features a network of industry supported research centers.
The Arboretum at Penn State
The Arboretum at Penn State (370 acres), which contains the H.O. Smith Botanic Gardens, is a new arboretum being created by The Pennsylvania State University adjacent to its University Park campus in State College, Pennsylvania. It will become Penn State's second arboretum, joining the Arboretum at Penn State Behrend, which was created in 2003. http://www. pserie. psu. edu/aboutPS/arboretum. htm The arboretum's master plan was developed from 1996-1999 by Sasaki Associates.
Schlow Centre Region Library
The Schlow Centre Region Library, formerly known as the State College Public Library and the Schlow Memorial Library, serves the State College, Pennsylvania area. A new building opened in 2005, replacing the original, which opened in 1957. The new two-story 38,577-square-foot building cost $10 million to construct. The public facilities include 66 computers. There were about 37,000 card holders, about 5,000 of them were new card holders.
Pennsylvania State University Radiation Science & Engineering Center
The Pennsylvania State University (PSU) Radiation Science & Engineering Center (RSEC) houses the Breazeale Nuclear Reactor (BNR). This reactor is the oldest operating in the nation and has undergone numerous power upgrades, renovations, and other changes. The reactor serves the research purposes of the Penn State Department of Mechanical and Nuclear Engineering as well as researchers from industry and other universities.
Octacube (mathematics)
The octacube is a large 3-dimensional mathematical sculpture illustrating a 4-dimensional structure in the Galois theory of operator algebras. It was designed by Adrian Ocneanu, a professor of pure mathematics at Penn State, which commissioned the sculpture. Ocneanu was also an International Mathematical Olympiad gold medalist in 1974 by recording a perfect score for his native country, Romania. A feature article on the sculpture appeared in the March 2006 issue of the popular journal Playboy.
Penn State Ice Pavilion
The Penn State Ice Pavilion is an 1,350-seat ice arena on the campus of The Pennsylvania State University located in University Park, Pennsylvania, United States. The ice arena includes an NHL regulation sized 200' x 85' ice sheet as well as a 45' x 55' studio ice sheet. The Ice Pavilion is home to the Penn State Nittany Lions men's and women's ice hockey teams, also known as the Icers.
Pegula Ice Arena
The Pegula Ice Arena is a planned 6,000-seat multi-purpose arena in University Park, Pennsylvania on the campus of Penn State University. The planned arena is currently under construction. The ice arena is planned to open in 2013 to replace the 1,350-seat Penn State Ice Pavilion. The facility will be located on the corner of Curtin Road and University Drive near the Bryce Jordan Center.
