Chester Borough, New Jersey
Chester is a borough in Morris County, New Jersey, United States. As of the 2010 United States Census, the borough's population was 1,649, reflecting an increase of 14 (+0.9%) from the 1,635 counted in the 2000 Census, which had in turn increased by 421 (+34.7%) from the 1,214 counted in the 1990 Census. Chester Township was established as a separate political entity on April 1, 1799, including the area of both the Township and the downtown Village area which came to be the Borough.

Chester Township is located about 40 miles west of New York City and features Victorian style homes and palatial estates.

The West Morris Regional High School District is a limited purpose regional public high school district in New Jersey that serves students from the surrounding Morris County communities of Chester Borough, Chester Township, Mendham Borough, Mendham Township and Washington Township. The Chester Township Public School District is a fully accredited elementary district responsible for the education of students in kindergarten through eighth grades. The school district serves two municipalities in Morris County, New Jersey: Chester Borough and Chester Township. As of the 2008-09 school year, the district's three schools had an enrollment of 1,441 students and 110.5 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 13.0.
West Morris Central High School
West Morris Central High School is a four-year comprehensive public high school that serves students in grades 9 through 12 from Washington Township, New Jersey, United States, where the school is located, operating as part of the West Morris Regional High School District. The school has a Chester Township mailing address. Other communities served by the district are Chester Borough, Chester Township, Mendham Borough and Mendham Township, whose students attend West Morris Mendham High School.
Black River Wildlife Management Area
The Black River Wildlife Management Area is located in Chester Township, New Jersey, United States. This WMA is over 3,000 acres and includes diverse landscape with plentiful flora and fauna. The WMA is named for the Black River, which passes through the area. Other parks in the Black River valley are the Black River County Park and the Hacklebarney State Park.
Black River County Park
The Black River County Park is a public park in Morris County, New Jersey operated by the Morris County Park Commission. The park covers an area of 560 acres along the eastern shore of the Black River and is located between Long Valley and Chester. Its land represents a glacial valley carved by the Black River and some of its tributaries. The park is home to the Cooper Mill, the Elizabeth D. Kay Environmental Center, the Bamboo Brook Outdoor Education Center, and the Willowwood Arboretum.
