Battle of Princeton
The Battle of Princeton (January 3, 1777) was a battle in which General George Washington's revolutionary forces defeated British forces near Princeton, New Jersey. On the night of January 2, 1777 George Washington, Commander-in-Chief of the Continental Army was able to repulse a British attack due to the British's vastly inferior numbers and cannon at the Battle of the Assunpink Creek in Trenton.
Jasna Polana
Jasna Polana (meaning bright glade in Polish and being the name of Leo Tolstoy's home) was the estate of John Seward Johnson I and his third wife, Barbara Piasecka, located at 8 Province Line Road in Princeton, New Jersey. After his death in 1983, she began to spend more time in Monte Carlo, Monaco and the estate was later converted into a country club. Stony Brook Meeting House and Cemetery
Stony Brook Meeting House and Cemetery are historic Quaker sites located at the Stony Brook Settlement at the intersection of Princeton Pike/Mercer Road and Quaker Road in Princeton, New Jersey, United States. The first Europeans to settle in the Princeton area were six Quaker families who built their homes near the Stony Brook around 1696. In 1709 Benjamin Clark deeded nine and three-fifths acres in trust to Richard Stockton and others to establish a Friends meeting house and burial ground.
