Fairfield State Hospital

Fairfield State Hospital (also known as Fairfield Hills State Hospital or Fairfield Hills) was a psychiatric hospital in Newtown, Connecticut, which operated from 1931 until 1995. At its peak the hospital housed over 4,000 patients. The entire facility was owned and operated by the State of Connecticut Department of Mental Health. Chalk Hill Middle School

Chalk Hill Middle School, in Monroe, Connecticut, was a middle school for grades five and six. The school closed after the 2010-11 academic year; the building was transferred to the town. Part is used for the recreation department. Sandy Hook Elementary School (in the Town of Newtown) students and staff are to use Chalk Hill Middle School as a permanent replacement to the old school, following the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in December 2012.
