Mansfelder Land (district)
Mansfelder Land was a district (Kreis) in the middle of Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. Neighboring districts were (from north clockwise) Aschersleben-Staßfurt, Bernburg, Saalkreis, Merseburg-Querfurt, Sangerhausen and Quedlinburg. It was merged on July 1, 2007 with Sangerhausen into the new district Mansfeld-Südharz as part of a reform.
Königsaue
The town of Königsaue in the district Aschersleben-Staßfurt, Saxony-Anhalt, Germany was destroyed in the course of opencast lignite mining in 1964. The inhabitants were resettled to the town of Neu-Königsaue, ca. 1 km north of the former location.
Lake Aschersleben
Lake Aschersleben is a former lake in Germany, northeast of the Harz Mountains, south of the town of Aschersleben. The lake was connected to the rivers of Eine and Elke and was about 12 km long. When the lake began to shrink in the course of the 15th century, a dam was built at the source of the Elke. The lake was completely drained at the beginning of the 18th century by an order of Frederick I.

The Battle of Welfesholz was fought on 11 February 1115 between the Imperial army of the Emperor Henry V and a rebellious Saxon force.
Mansfeld Castle
Mansfeld Castle is a castle in the region of Mansfeld Land in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. The castle, which is surrounded by forest, stands on top of a large rock overlooking the town of Mansfeld. The Late Gothic church of the castle, as well as the ruins, moats and the remains of the battlements from the time of the old fortress make Mansfeld castle a popular attraction. Martin Luther often visited the castle, as his parents lived in Mansfeld.

Eine (river)
The Eine is a river, just under 40 kilometres long in the German state of Saxony-Anhalt, which rises southeast of Harzgerode in the Harz mountains at 420 m above sea level. The Eine flows north of the B 242 federal road to Friedrichsrode in an easterly direction and then swings northeast into the Harz Foreland. The river channel runs through Alterode, Welbsleben and Westdorf to Aschersleben.

Rote Welle
Rote Welle (in English red wave) is an abandoned village in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. Today, there can be found ruins, but most of them are from a time when the village did not exist any more. The place is located in the valley of the, same named, stream Rote Welle, circa 2.3 kilometers north of the village Welfesholz. After the Battle of Welfesholz in 1115, Rote Welle got plundered and burned down with the other villages Lodderstedt, Nisselsdorf, Milrode, Wesenstedt and Disdorf.

Martin Luther's Death House (German: Martin Luthers Sterbehaus) is the historic building in Eisleben, Germany, where Martin Luther died on 18 February 1546. Since then it has become a museum and a UNESCO world heritage site. The city of Eisleben, located in Saxony-Anhalt, is also where Martin Luther was born and baptised; his birth house is also a UNESCO world heritage site and museum.
