Highfield-Cascade, Maryland
Highfield-Cascade is a census-designated place (CDP) in Washington County, Maryland, United States. The population was 1,141 at the 2000 census.
Monterey Country Club
Monterey Country Club, built before 1885, is home to one of the oldest golf courses in the United States. The club sits just below the peaks of 1,720 Mt. Dunlap and 1,365 Monterey Peak in Blue Ridge Summit, Pennsylvania and is less than one mile (1.6 km) from the Mason-Dixon Line and about 8 miles away from Camp David. The club has served as a summer retreat for many Washingtonians, and has golf, tennis, swimming, dining and clubhouse facilities.
South Mountain (Maryland and Pennsylvania)
South Mountain is the northern extension of the Blue Ridge Mountain range in Maryland and Pennsylvania. From the Potomac River near Knoxville, Maryland in the south, to Dillsburg, Pennsylvania in the north, the 70-mile long range separates the Hagerstown and Cumberland valleys from the Piedmont regions of the two states. The Appalachian National Scenic Trail follows the crest of the mountain through Maryland and part of its portion in Pennsylvania.

The saddle area lies near Happel's Meadow between Monterey Peak (1,663 ft) and Clermont Crag (1627 ft). It was the site of the July 1863 Fight at Monterey Pass during the Retreat from Gettysburg. Pen Mar, Maryland
Pen Mar is an unincorporated village in Washington County, Maryland, and Franklin County, Pennsylvania, United States. It is one of the border towns in the United States with a portmanteau name. Pen Mar came to prominence in the 20th century due to the construction of Pen Mar Park by the Western Maryland Railroad. The construction of the Pen Mar resort caused the area to become a destination for many people.
Camp Louise
Camp Louise is an all-girls, Jewish overnight summer camp in the Catoctin Mountains in Cascade, Maryland. It is the sister camp of Camp Airy for boys, which is located in Thurmont. Girls between the ages of 7 and 17 attend for one to eight weeks, depending on their age and interest. Louise is a member of the American Camp Association.
Jacks Mountain Tunnel
Jacks Mountain Tunnel is a railroad tunnel located in Adams County, Pennsylvania about 2.5 miles southwest of Fairfield. It was built in 1889 by the Baltimore and Harrisburg Railway, which was later acquired by the Western Maryland Railway. The tunnel is currently owned by CSX Transportation and operates as part of the Hanover Subdivision.
Nichol's Gap Road
The Nichol's Gap Road was a central Pennsylvania highway established in the 18th century near Maryland extending westward from the Black's Gap Road "just west of Little Conewago Creek" at the Crofs Keys stand of James Black. The road was past both the Rock Creek Church and 1761 Samuel Gettys tavern where Gettysburg would be surveyed in 1786.
