Babbs Island

Babbs Island is an island in Hancock County, West Virginia on the Ohio River between East Liverpool, Ohio and Chester, West Virginia. It takes its name from the Babbs family of Columbiana County, Ohio which once owned the island from 1804 to 1820. The pylons of the U.S. Route 30 bridge between East Liverpool and Chester completed in 1978 lie on Babbs Island's southwestern flank. The southernmost end of the island is owned by West Virginia.

The Jennings Randolph Bridge, built in 1977, is the largest Pratt truss bridge in North America, spanning 754 feet over the Ohio River between Chester, West Virginia and East Liverpool, Ohio. The bridge, which is located on U.S. Route 30, is named after West Virginian Democratic Senator Jennings Randolph, replaced the former Chester Bridge, which was built in 1897. Seven Ranges

The Seven Ranges (also known as the Old Seven Ranges) was a land tract in eastern Ohio that was the first tract to be surveyed in what became the Public Land Survey System. The tract is 42 miles across the northern edge, 91 miles on the western edge, with the south and east sides along the Ohio River. It consists of all of Monroe, Harrison, Belmont and Jefferson, and portions of Carroll, Columbiana, Tuscarawas, Guernsey, Noble, and Washington County.
