University of Michigan
The University of Michigan (UM, U-M, "UMich" or U of M), frequently referred to as simply Michigan, is a public research university located in Ann Arbor, Michigan, United States. It is the state's oldest university and the flagship campus of the University of Michigan. It is one of the original eight Public Ivy universities and is one of the founding members of the Association of American Universities.
Superior Township, Washtenaw County, Michigan
Superior Charter Township is a charter township of Washtenaw County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 13,058 at the 2010 census. The unincorporated community of Dixboro is within the township, near its western edge. The township is surrounded by the nearby, larger communities of Canton Township, Ypsilanti and Ann Arbor. The township is largely rural north of Geddes Road, which has been designated by the township government as the northern limit of high density development.
Rynearson Stadium
Rynearson Stadium is a stadium in Ypsilanti, Michigan. It is primarily used for American football, and is the home field of the Eastern Michigan University Eagles. It held its first game on September 27, 1969, when EMU upset the University of Akron, 10-3. Currently, the stadium has seating for 30,200 people.
Lurie Tower
The Ann and Robert H. Lurie Tower, located on North Campus at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and housing a grand carillon—one of only 23 in the world, but one of two on the Michigan campus—was built in 1996 as a memorial for Michigan alumnus Robert H. Lurie. The Lurie Tower was designed by Michigan alumnus Charles Moore (AB '47, Hon Arch Ph.D. '92), with the structural engineering done by Robert M. Darvas Associates. WEMU
WEMU (89.1) is the public broadcasting service of Eastern Michigan University. A National Public Radio (NPR) affiliate whose primary market is Washtenaw County (Ann Arbor/Ypsilanti) and the surrounding area, WEMU carries the standard NPR news magazines All Things Considered and Morning Edition. Anson Brown Building
The Anson Brown Building is the oldest extant commercial building in Ann Arbor, Michigan. It was erected in 1832 by developer Anson Brown in the Lower Town area at 1001 Broadway St. as a general store. It is located at the intersection of Swift and Broadway streets and abuts against the Edward L. Fuller building. The building design was influenced by Dutch architecture with parapet end walls. It was owned for over 60 years by the Colvin family until it was purchased from them in 1989.
C.S. Mott Children's Hospital
The C.S. Mott Children's Hospital is a pediatric hospital through the University of Michigan Health System in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The hospital, financed with a large donation from C.S. Mott, replaced the University Hospital's pediatric wards in 1969. In 2006, the university broke ground to build a new facility which is scheduled to be complete as of November 2011.
