Smithsburg, Maryland
Smithsburg is a town in Washington County, Maryland, United States. The population was 2,975 at the 2010 census. Smithsburg is close to Fort Ritchie army base and just west of the presidential retreat Camp David.
Quirauk Mountain
Quirauk Mountain is the highest point on South Mountain. The 2,145-foot peak is located in northeastern Washington County, Maryland. It lies just southwest of Fort Ritchie Military Reservation in the village of Cascade and about 1/2 mile southeast of the community of Blue Mountain. The Appalachian Trail and South Mountain State Park are about 1/2 mile to the west of the mountain's summit.

FM 104.7 came on the air in 1946 as WJEJ-FM (sister to WJEJ 1240). Until 2000 the station was known as easy listening/beautiful music formatted WWMD under Hagerstown Broadcasting, when the station was sold to VerStandig.
