Carrickfergus Borough Council
Carrickfergus Borough Council is a district council in County Antrim in Northern Ireland. The council headquarters are in Carrickfergus and the council administers the town, on the north shore of Belfast Lough, and surrounding area, which extends from Greenisland in the south-west to Whitehead in the east. The borough is 32 square miles, with a population of 39,114 as of 2011. The Carrickfergus Borough Council area consists of 3 electoral areas: Carrick Castle, Kilroot and Knockagh Monument.

Belfast Lough is a large, natural intertidal sea lough at the mouth of the River Lagan on the east coast of Northern Ireland. The inner part of the lough comprises a series of mudflats and lagoons. The outer lough is restricted to mainly rocky shores with some small sandy bays. Belfast Lough is the gateway for Belfast to the Irish Sea.
Downshire railway station
Downshire railway station serves eastern Carrickfergus in County Antrim, Northern Ireland. This station opened on 1 April 1925 and was known for most of its early life as Downshire Park. Northern Ireland Railways renamed the halt in the late 1970s. The station's signposts prior to the 2008 refurbishment named the station as "Downshire Halt", a name by which the station is still locally known. The Belfast-bound platform was extended during summer 2011 to allow longer trains to operate.

Downshire School is a co-educational, 11-18 controlled secondary school in Carrickfergus, County Antrim, Northern Ireland, on Downshire Road. It opened in 1977 and currently has an enrolment of 803 pupils and 59 teachers. Downshire is a Specialist School in Business Studies and Enterprise with Sport.
Eden railway station
Eden (also known as Eden Halt) was a station located in the townland of Eden, in and around the town of Carrickfergus in Northern Ireland. At one time it formed part of a tight cluster of stations, each located almost one minute from the other, from Mount through to Kilroot. The station closed in 1977 when Northern Ireland Railways nationalised their services. It has now been dismantled.
Kilroot railway station
Kilroot was a station located in the village of Kilroot, close the town of Carrickfergus, in Northern Ireland. At one time it was the last in a tight cluster of stations, each located almost one minute from the other, from Mount railway station through to the halt at Kilroot. The station closed in 1977 when Northern Ireland Railways services were cut back. It has now been dismantled, and all traces were lost whenever Kilroot power station was constructed in the late 1970s.
Boneybefore
Boneybefore is an area of Carrickfergus in County Antrim, Northern Ireland. It lies between the A2 road and Belfast Lough. It is home to the Andrew Jackson Centre (also known as the Andrew Jackson Cottage), the ancestral home of Andrew Jackson, 7th President of the United States. The centre is housed in a traditional thatched Ulster–Scots farmhouse built sometime in the 1750s, which was home to Andrew Jackson's parents shortly before they emigrated to South Carolina in the United States.
