The County of Regenstein was a mediaeval statelet of the Holy Roman Empire. The counts of Regenstein Castle near Heimburg were first mentioned in a 1169 deed, with Count Conrad of Regenstein, son of Poppo I, Count of Blankenburg (1095–1164), himself a nephew of Count Reinhard, Bishop of Halberstadt from the Ripuarian House of Reginbodo.

Rosstrappe Chair Lift
The Rosstrappe Chair Lift is a 559 metre-long single-seater chair lift built in 1980 by the firm of Chrudrim. It runs from Thale in the Bode Gorge taking eight minutes to reach the rock massif of the Rosstrappe. The Rosstrappe Chair Lift climbs 250 metres over a length of 668 metres. It has over 13 supports. In 2005 the old chair lift was replaced by a new one. The cable used has a diameter of 28 mm and it is driven by a 40 kW engine in the valley station.
Regenstein Castle
Regenstein Castle is a ruined castle that lies three kilometres north of Blankenburg in the German state of Saxony-Anhalt. It is a popular tourist destination where, each year, a knight's tournament and a garrison festival are held. Of this once relatively impregnable castle, which was built in the early and high Middle Ages on a 294 metre high sandstone rock towering over the surrounding area, only ruins are visible today.

Luisenburg (Harz)
The Luisenburg was a small palace that existed from 1728 to 1945 near Blankenburg (Harz) in central Germany. It was built in 1728 on the Calviusberg hilltop above Blankenburg Castle as a belvedere for Duchess Christine Louise of Brunswick, and was named after her. The Luisenburg was a single-storey timber-framed building with an octagonal hall surrounded by eight small rooms. In 1945 it was demolished due to its advanced state of dilapidation.
Wilhelm Raabe Tower
The Wilhelm Raabe Tower is one of the few surviving Kaiser towers. It is located on the Eichenberg hill near Blankenburg on the edge of the Harz Mountains of central Germany. It is owned by the Harz Club branch in Blankenburg.
Teufelsmauer (Harz)
The Teufelsmauer (Devil's Wall) is a rock formation made of hard sandstones of the Upper Cretaceous in the northern part of the Harz Foreland in central Germany. This wall of rock runs from Blankenburg (Harz) via Weddersleben and Rieder to Ballenstedt. The most prominent individual rocks of the Teufelsmauer have their own names. The Teufelsmauer near Weddersleben is also called the Adlersklippen ("Eagle Crags").
Schurre
The Schurre (pronounced "shoorer") is a stone run in the Bode Gorge in the Lower Harz near Thale in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. The stone run is slowly slipping downhill, the sliding of its boulders being audible especially during periods of heavy rain. Its name has been given to a much-frequented trail, blazed in 1864 between the Bode Gorge and the legendary Rosstrappe site. In 18 hairpin bends the Schurre wends its way up the steep stone run.

They are two sand caves known individually as the Große Sandhöhle and Kleine Sandhöhle ("Great Sand Cave" and "Small Sand Cave"). Thale Central Station (Thale Hauptbahnhof) is located on the Magdeburg–Thale railway in the town of Thale in the German state of Saxony-Anhalt. The station is classified by Deutsche Bahn as a category 5 station. The only other station in Thale is the halt at Thale Musestieg, although there used to be three stations in Thale on a branch of the Blankenburg–Quedlinburg railway, which was opened in 1908 and was closed in the 1960s.
