Greely, Ontario

Greely (pop. 7,056 - 2005) is a quickly growing rural village in the southern end of Ottawa, formerly a part of the Township of Osgoode. It has been a part of the City of Ottawa since amalgamation in 2001. Greely is currently the largest rural village in terms of land area and the third largest in terms of population in the City of Ottawa. In 2005, its population was reported as 7,056, with 2,378 dwellings.

Osgoode Ward

Osgoode Ward (Ward 20) represents the south end of the City of Ottawa and solely made up of residents of the former Osgoode Township. The current city councillor is Doug Thompson. It contains Greely, Osgoode, Metcalfe, Edwards, Kenmore, Vernon and portions of Manotick. For the 2006 election, the boundaries will be changing to add much of rural southern Gloucester to the ward. The previous boundary was along the former Osgoode Township line, Mitch Owens Road.

Rideau Carleton Raceway is a Canadian horse racing and gambling complex located at Ottawa, Ontario. The facility began operation in 1962 and specialises in standardbred harness racing. In 2000, the venue introduced slot machines, under the authority of the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation which were expected to draw annual revenue of $130 million. The site includes a restaurant and hosts musical performances.

Mix FM (Ottawa)

Mix FM was an unlicensed radio station in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. The station broadcast as a pirate radio station on several frequencies, most notably on 91.9 FM. The station was "forced off the air" soon after midnight on December 14, 2009. However the station later signed back on the air 10 days later. The broadcast of Mix FM was forcibly shut down by Industry Canada on January 15, 2010, although the station continued for a short time to operate a podcast stream online.
