Bellefonte is a borough in Centre County, Pennsylvania, United States. It lies about twelve miles northeast of State College and is part of the State College, Pennsylvania Metropolitan Statistical Area. The borough population was 6,187 at the 2010 Census. Milesburg is a borough in Centre County, Pennsylvania, United States. It is part of the State College, Pennsylvania Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 1,123 at the 2010 census. Milesburg, as well as nearby Miles Township was named after Colonel Samuel Miles, who co-owned the Centre Furnace Iron Works, along with Colonel John Patton and John Dunlop.
Bush House Hotel
The Bush House Hotel was located in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania. It was built in 1868-69 and burned down on February 8, 2006. Thomas Edison stayed there while bringing electricity to the town. The Bush House also served other famous guests, such as Henry Ford and Amelia Earhart. It was a contributing property to the Bellefonte Historic District.
Bellefonte Furnace
Bellefonte Furnace was a hot blast iron furnace located in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania. Founded in 1888, it was the first hot blast, coke-fueled iron furnace to be built in Centre County, Pennsylvania. While its founders hoped to transform Centre County's iron industry with modern technology, the furnace struggled to operate at a profit and was out of operation from 1893 until 1899. Thereafter, it operated more or less continuously until 1910, and was demolished four years later.

Union Cemetery (Bellefonte, Pennsylvania)
Union Cemetery located on East Howard Street in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania was established in 1795. Burials occurred as early as 1808, and the cemetery itself was chartered in 1856. It is the final resting place of Bellefonte's founding families, Pennsylvania Governors and their wives, U.S. Congressmen, war heroes and veterans, including black soldiers of the famous Union "Army of the James" in the American Civil War.
