WBEA (101.7 The Beach) is a Top 40 Mainstream radio station licensed to Southold, New York and serving the east end of Long Island plus southern Connecticut. The station is owned by Long Island Radio Broadcasting and broadcasts on 101.7 MHz with 6 kilowatts ERP from a tower west of Hampton Bays. Unlike many stations on Long Island's East End, WBEA's signal is one of the less impeded as there is only one adjacent channel to hamper its coverage to the north and west.
Hampton Bays (LIRR station)
Hampton Bays is railroad station along the Montauk Branch of the Long Island Rail Road. It is on Good Ground Road between Springville Road and Suffolk CR 32 (Ponquogue Avenue) in Hampton Bays, New York. Parking is free and entirely along Good Ground Road. Hampton Bays station was originally built along what was then the Sag Harbor Branch in 1869 (although some sources claim it was in February 1871) as “Good Ground,” until June 1922, hence the name of the street it is located on.
Quogue (LIRR station)
Quogue was a station stop along the Montauk Branch of the Long Island Rail Road and the station was built around June, 1875. During construction the station was moved by the village "on a Sunday morning" from its original and current location to a location on Old Depot Road. The second depot was built around 1882 and later was moved to a private location around 1905. The third depot was built around 1905 and at some point was elevated for the bridge over the former New York State Route 113.
