Cranford is a township in Union County, New Jersey, United States. As of the 2010 United States Census, the township's population was 22,625, reflecting an increase of 47 (+0.2%) from the 22,578 counted in the 2000 Census, which had in turn declined by 55 (-0.2%) from the 22,633 counted in the 1990 Census. Cranford was incorporated as a township by an Act of the New Jersey Legislature on March 14, 1871, from portions of the Townships of Clark, Linden, Springfield, Union and Westfield.

William Miller Sperry Observatory
The William Miller Sperry Observatory, also known simply as the Sperry Observatory, is an astronomical observatory owned by Union County College and operated by Amateur Astronomers, Incorporated. The observatory is located on the property of Union County College on their Cranford, New Jersey campus. It was named after William Miller Sperry and dedicated in 1967. Mrs. Carrie Regina Beinecke and her son, William Beinecke, made a $150,000 donation to what was then the Union County Junior College.
Garwood (NJT station)
Garwood is a New Jersey Transit (NJT) railroad station on the Raritan Valley Line, in Garwood, New Jersey. There are two short, low platforms (long enough for approximately 1-2 cars) - one on each side; passengers using the Newark-bound platform must cross over a siding track. Access to neighboring stations is available on the 59 or 113 bus, traveling between Cranford and Westfield stations. In June 2011, a ticket vending machine was installed on the Newark-bound platform.
