Closter, New Jersey
Closter (with a long o) is a borough in Bergen County, New Jersey, United States. As of the 2010 United States Census, the borough's population was 8,373, reflecting a decline of 10 (-0.1%) from the 8,383 counted in the 2000 Census, which had in turn increased by 289 (+3.6%) from the 8,094 counted in the 1990 Census. Closter, first settled in 1704, was formed by an Act of the New Jersey Legislature on January 1, 1904, from portions of Harrington Township.

As of the 2010 United States Census, the borough's population was 4,881, reflecting an increase of 36 (+0.7%) from the 4,845 counted in the 2000 Census, which had in turn increased by 45 (+0.9%) from the 4,800 counted in the 1990 Census. Demarest was formed by an Act of the New Jersey Legislature on April 8, 1903, from portions of Harrington Township and Palisades Township.
Northern Valley Regional High School District
The Northern Valley Regional High School District is a comprehensive regional public high school district composed of two public high schools in Bergen County, New Jersey. The regionalized district serves a student population of approximately 2,500 in grades 9-12. The district comprises the suburban communities of Closter, Demarest, Harrington Park, Haworth, Northvale, Norwood and Old Tappan. Students from Rockleigh attend the district as part of a sending/receiving relationship.
Camp Merritt, New Jersey
Camp Merritt was a military base in Cresskill, in Bergen County, New Jersey, that was activated for use in World War I. It was from this camp that thousands of soldiers were deployed to Hoboken, New Jersey before being shipped off to Europe. Approximately four million troops were sent to the Western Front during World War I, about one million of them passed through Camp Merritt. Camp Merritt was decommissioned in 1919.

Camp Merritt Memorial Circle
The Camp Merritt Memorial Circle is a traffic circle in Cresskill and Dumont, New Jersey at the intersection of Madison Avenue and Knickerbocker Road. Cresskill was the home of Camp Merritt, the major embarkation point for American troops being sent abroad to fight in World War I. A large obelisk memorial, set in the middle of the traffic circle commemorates this fact.
