White's Ferry

White's Ferry is a cable ferry service operating across the Potomac River. It is located six miles west of Poolesville, Maryland, and north of Leesburg, Virginia. It is the only ferry still operating on the Potomac River. The General Jubal A. Early carries cars, bicycles, and pedestrians between Maryland and Virginia.

Broad Run is a tributary stream of the Potomac River in Montgomery County, Maryland. The headwaters of the stream originates west of the town of Poolesville, and the creek flows southward for 8.9 miles to the Potomac River.

The National Conference Center

The National Conference Center (NCC) is a corporate training facility in Leesburg, Virginia. It hosts over 14,000 individuals per month and comprises 265,000 square feet of meeting space, one of the largest in the region. The center contains 250 conference rooms, an athletic facility, and 917 guest rooms. The building was built in 1974 as the Xerox Conference Center at a cost of $55 million dollars. It was designed to assist in copier and technology training for company employees.

Harrison Island (Maryland)

Harrison Island is private farming island in Montgomery County, Maryland, United States. It is located between the Potomac River on the Maryland side, and Ball's Bluff Battlefield and National Cemetery on the Virginia side, next to Leesburg, Virginia. The island dominates the view from the heights of Ball's Bluff Battlefield. Among the low, flood-prone islands of the lower Potomac River, Harrison Island is notable for having a permanent private residence visible near the center of the island.
