Manhasset is a hamlet and neighborhood in Nassau County, New York, on the North Shore of Long Island. As of the 2010 United States Census, the population was 8,080. Manhasset is a Native American term that translates to "the island neighborhood". In 2005, a Wall Street Journal article ranked Manhasset as the best town for raising a family in the New York metropolitan area.

Greentree
Greentree is a 400-acre estate in Manhasset, New York on Long Island. Payne Whitney purchased the estate for his bride, Helen Julia Hay, in 1904. Later, John Hay Whitney and his second wife, Betsey, occupied the main house, where Mrs. Whitney remained in residence there until her death in 1998.

Manhasset is a station in Manhasset, New York on the Port Washington Branch of the Long Island Rail Road. Though a smaller wooden structure was originally built in 1899, the current station was built in the 1920s in a trench, at Plandome Road and Maple Place, off Park Avenue, five blocks North of Northern Boulevard. It is 17.2 miles (27.7 km) from Penn Station in Midtown Manhattan. A high-level platform was installed in the 1970s.

Shelter Rock (North Hills, New York)
Shelter Rock is a rock shelter of granite on the border of Manhasset, New York and North Hills, New York, 10 feet (3m) away from Shelter Rock Road. The rock is a glacial erratic estimated to weigh 1,800 tons and has a 30 foot overhang. It is 55 feet high and 35 feet wide. It was deposited by glacial action between 20,000 and 11,000 years ago. Members of the Matinecock had a settlement nearby, a number of legends about the rock arose among both the native Americans and the European colonists.
