Historic Deerfield is an open-air living history museum dedicated to the heritage and preservation of Deerfield, Massachusetts, and the Connecticut River Valley. Raid on Deerfield
The 1704 Raid on Deerfield (or the Deerfield Massacre) occurred during Queen Anne's War on February 29 when French and Native American forces under the command of Jean-Baptiste Hertel de Rouville attacked the English frontier settlement at Deerfield, Massachusetts, just before dawn, burning part of the town, killing 56 villagers, and taking 109 settlers captive.

It is located on the Pocumtuck Range near Deerfield Academy and sited on a 750-acre campus which is also preserved by the Deerfield Wildlife Trust. Eaglebrook has a student body of approximately 260 boys in grades six, seven, eight, and nine (forms 3 through 6). Girls may only attend if their parents work or live on campus.

Deerfield Academy is an independent, coeducational boarding school in Deerfield, Massachusetts, United States. It is a four-year college-preparatory school with approximately 600 students and about 100 faculty, all of whom live on or near campus. Deerfield is a member of the Eight Schools Association (ESA), begun informally in 1973–74 and formalized in 2006, and of the Ten Schools Admissions Organization, founded in 1966. There is a seven-school overlap of membership between the two groups.

WGAJ was a radio station broadcasting an Album Oriented Rock format. Licensed to Deerfield, Massachusetts, USA. The station was formerly owned by Trustees of Deerfield Academy. WGAJ FM went silent on May 19, 2009. In July 2010 the Trustees of Deerfield Academy filed with the Federal Communications Commission to assign WGAJ's license to WFCR Foundation, Inc. , owner of WFCR in Amherst, Massachusetts. The sale price was $10,000. The commission approved the sale on August 19, 2010.

Frontier Regional School (FRS) is a regional combined public high school and middle school in South Deerfield, Massachusetts, serving students in grades 7 - 12, as part of the Union 38 School District. The district serves the four towns of Deerfield, Sunderland, Whately and Conway. The school is broken up into three parts: The east wing is the high school, which holds classes for students grades 9-12. The west wing is the middle school, which holds classes for grades 7 & 8.
Battle of Bloody Brook
The Battle of Bloody Brook was fought on September 12, 1675 between English colonial militia from the Massachusetts Bay Colony and a band of Indians led by the Nipmuc sachem Muttawmp. The Indians ambushed colonists escorting a train of wagons carrying the harvest from Deerfield to Hadley during King Philip's War. They killed at least 40 militia men and 17 teamsters out of a company that included 79 militia.
