Kerrera
Kerrera is an island in the Scottish Inner Hebrides, close to the town of Oban. In 2005 it had a population of about 35 people, and it is linked to the mainland by passenger ferry on the Gallanach Road. The island is known for the ruined Gylen Castle, built in 1582. It was also the place where Alexander II of Scotland died in 1249. The highest point on Kerrera is Carn Breugach at 189 metres .

Battle of Lagganmore
The Battle of Lagganmore took place in 1646 in Lagganmore, in Glen Euchar, west of Loch Scammadale. It was part of the 17th century Scottish Civil War that also incorporated a long running feud between the Clan MacDonald and the Clan Campbell. The royalist forces of Alasdair MacDonald, who were supported by the Clan MacDougall and Clan MacAulay defeated the covenanter forces of the Campbells who were supported by the Clan Malcolm.
