Wernigerode (district)
Wernigerode was a district (Kreis) in the west of Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. Neighboring districts are (from north clockwise) Halberstadt, Quedlinburg, the district Nordhausen in Thuringia and the district Goslar in Lower Saxony.
Wernigerode Castle
Wernigerode Castle is a castle located in the Harz mountains above the town of Wernigerode in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. The present-day building, finished in the late 19th century, is similar in style to Neuschwanstein Castle, though its foundations are much older. The castle is open to the public and one of the most frequently visited in Saxony-Anhalt.
Butterberg (Ilsenburg)
The Butterberg in the Harz district of the German state of Saxony-Anhalt lies about halfway between Ilsenburg and Drübeck, at a height of 279 m above NN. From the top, the Harz Foreland and the ridges of the Harz mountains may be seen. The view of Ilsenburg however is almost completely hidden by the nearby Eichholz wood. The hill falls more steeply away on its southern side than on the northern slopes and lies immediately next to the old B 6 federal road (today the L85).
Ackertklippe
The Ackertklippe is a rock formation in Königshütte in the district of Harz in the Harz mountains of Germany. It is composed mainly of granite. A nearby road is named after the crag. The crag can be climbed by a footpath. A refuge hut was built on the summit at the beginning of the 20th century. From the crag there is a comprehensive view of the village, the river Bode and the surrounding Harz mountains as far as the Wurmberg and the Brocken.

The Ottofels ("Otto Rock"), named after Prince Otto of Stolberg-Wernigerode, is a tor and natural monument near Wernigerode in the Harz mountains of central Germany. The Ottofels or Ottofelsen lie about 2.5 km southwest of Hasserode in the borough of Wernigerode. It can only be reached on foot, either from the Steinerne Renne halt on the Harz Railway and Brocken Railway or from the car park at the junction of the Thumkuhle and Dränge valleys not far from the road to Drei Annen Hohne.

The place is located about 9 km southwest of the town within the Harz mountains, on the northeastern edge of the Harz National Park. It is accessible from the road from Wernigerode to Schierke, an eastern branch–off leads to Elbingerode.

Harschenhöllenklippe
The Harschenhöllenklippe is a rock formation in the Harz mountains in the German state of Saxony-Anhalt. The crag is located on the northern slopes of the Tänn valley (Tänntal). It lies southwest of Oehrenfeld and belongs to the borough of Ilsenburg. The forest way from Oehrenfeld to the Plessenburg passes some way north of the crag. The rock itself stands in a clearing in the forest and cannot be reached on a footpath.

Kaiser Tower (Wernigerode)
The Kaiser Tower is an observation tower standing on the 478 metre high hill of Armeleuteberg on the territory of the German town of Wernigerode. It was designed by the royal architect of the princes of Stolberg, Paul Kilburger, and financed and erected by a Wernigerode hotelier, Eduard Lührmann, between 29 May and 1 September 1902. The building stone came mainly from the Königsberg Quarry near Schierke. In 1992 the tower was thoroughly refurbished and made accessible again.
Mönchsbuche
The Mönchsbuche is an old beech tree in the Harz Mountains of Germany that has been designated as a natural monument due to its age and the stories surrounding it. It stands on a ridge near Hasserode in the borough of Wernigerode, on an old way between the abbeys of Himmelpforten and Ilsenburg and is reputedly where the monks used to stop and rest. In March 2011 the top of the old tree, that is over 100 years old, was removed in order to save it from breaking apart.
Königshütte Waterfall
Königshütte Waterfall is a waterfall in the village of Königshütte in the borough of Oberharz am Brocken in the Harz Mountains of Central Germany. The waterfall has a relatively low volume and falls through a height of 12 metres (some sources give 15 or 20 metres). The stream empties shortly thereafter into the Kalte Bode. The waterfall is man-made and was constructed in connexion with an old quarry in 1994. The Bundesstraße 27 federal road runs close by.
