Cube house
Kubuswoningen, or cube houses, are a set of innovative houses built in Rotterdam and Helmond in The Netherlands, designed by architect Piet Blom and based on the concept of "living as an urban roof": high density housing with sufficient space on the ground level. Blom tilted the cube of a conventional house 45 degrees, and rested it upon a hexagon-shaped pylon. His design represents a village within a city, where each house represents a tree, and all the houses together, a forest.

Het Slaakhuis is a squat in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. It is located on a street called Slaak and was squatted in May 2003. Initially the space hosted film nights, workshops, parties and a cafe. There was a free shop and lessons were taught in Dutch and kung fu. The building is a six-storey office block, which was formerly the headquarters of a socialist newspaper, Het Vrije Volk. It was built in 1955.

Kralingen-Crooswijk is a township of the city of Rotterdam, Netherlands. It is located at the immediate east of the city's centre. As of 2005 it has about 52,379 inhabitants and has a territory of about 1,286 ha. It consists of the two boroughs Kralingen and Crooswijk, the former being a village itself until it was incorporated in the city of Rotterdam in the late 19th century.
Willemsbrug
The Willemsbrug is a bridge next to the Erasmusbrug in the centre of Rotterdam, spanning the Nieuwe Maas. It links the northern part of the city with the Noordereiland and (in combination with the Koninginnebrug) the district of Feijenoord. The bridge was completed in 1981, designed by C. Veerling and named after King Willem III of the Netherlands. It replaced an older bridge which had been opened in 1879 but was severely outdated by the time the decision was made to build a new one.
Kralingen
Kralingen is a former village in the Dutch province of South Holland, now a neighbourhood of Rotterdam. It is located about 3 kilometres east of the city centre, in the borough Kralingen-Crooswijk. Kralingen was a separate municipality until 1895, when it merged with Rotterdam. Previously, the high society of the growing city had their pleasure gardens and villas erected there in the 19th century, on the eastern outskirts of the village.
Arboretum Trompenburg
Arboretum Trompenburg is a botanical garden in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, which hosts a large collection of woody as well as herbaceous plants. It occupies an area of 7 ha and is situated 4 m below sea level, so a system of canals is used to drain the land. The history of the garden dates back to the 19th century. Since 1958 it has been open to the public daily for a small fee.

Witte Huis
The Witte Huis or White House is a building and National Heritage Site in Rotterdam, Netherlands, inspired by American office buildings and built in 1898 in the Art Nouveau style. The building is 43 m tall, with 10 floors, and was the tallest in Europe at the time it was built. It was also the first hoogbouw in Europe. The building is listed as a Rijksmonument.
Berlage Institute
The Berlage Institute was founded in 1990 as an independent postgraduate school of architecture in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. Named after the Dutch architect Hendrik Petrus Berlage, the Berlage Institute had an international student population and teaching staff. The school was founded by Dutch architect Herman Hertzberger who served as the first dean. At that time, the school was located in Aldo van Eyck's Children's Orphanage.
Rotte (river)
The Rotte is a river the in Rhine-Maas-delta in the Netherlands. The Rotte is the namesake of the city of Rotterdam: the city was founded in the 13th Century when a dam was built across the river. It rises in Moerkapelle in the so-called Green Heart. It flows past Bleiswijk and Bergschenhoek; and then the village of Hillegersberg, which was built on a sand dune and was one of the few places in the marsh land that could be permanently settled before the dikes were constructed.
World Port Center
World Port Centre is a 33-storey, 123.1 m skyscraper in Rotterdam, Netherlands. The tower was commissioned by ING Real Estate Development. The building costs amounted to approximately NLG100 million. The Port of Rotterdam Authority is the main occupant of the WPC, using floors 2 to 19. Floors 25 to 28 are rented to Eneco Energie, floors 29 to 32 are built as conference areas and are commercially leased to Regus. The grounds also cover the Argentine steak-restaurant Gaucho's.
The Red Apple
The Red Apple is a 40-storey, 124 m residential skyscraper on Wijnhaven Island in Rotterdam, Netherlands, designed by KCAP Architects & Planners and Jan des Bouvrie. The building was topped out in 2008, completed in 2009, and features 121 units, and a 338-space multi-storey car park. It is the sixth tallest building in Rotterdam. The Kopblok is a 53 m building that has an additional 79 apartment units and offices. The ground floor is designed for shops and restaurants.

Admiraliteitsbrug
The Admiraliteitsbrug is a drawbridge over the Buizengat in Rotterdam. The bridge is located on Willem Ruyslaan and connects oostzeedijk to the Maasboulevard. The bridge has a passage width of 9.20 m and a vertical clearance of 2.75 m . The bridge is unmanned and any request to open it must be submitted to the ministry (aangevraagd) at the Boerengatbrug. The bridge will not be operated if the Boerengatbrug or Oostbrug is opened or when the dam is closed.
Stieltjeskerk
The Martyrs of Gorcum Church -known as the Stieltjeskerk, was a Roman Catholic church in Rotterdam. Rotterdam and its harbor underwent a tremendous growth in the second half of the 19th century. The district of Feijenoord was originally built on the south bank of the Maas River. A significant part of the new inhabitants were Catholics from the provinces of North Brabant and Zeeland .

Amarone is a restaurant in Rotterdam, Netherlands. It is a fine dining restaurant that is awarded one Michelin star in the period 2008–present. GaultMillau awarded the restaurant 16 out of 20 points. Head chef of Amarone is Gert Blom. In 2007, the restaurant was the highest new entry in the "Lekker Top-100 2008". It reached spot 54. At that moment, Amarone was only fifteen 15 months in business. The Michelin star, awarded just 2 weeks later, took them completely by surprise.
