Ehndorf transmitter
Ehndorf transmitter is a mediumwave radio transmission mast located at Ehndorf, a village west of Neumünster in Schleswig-Holstein, Federal Republic of Germany. Owned by Deutsche Telekom, the facility broadcasts Deutschlandfunk on 1269 kHz (1268 kHz until 1978). It went in service in November 1967 at a power of 600 kW (then one of the highest powered transmitters in Europe), reduced to 300 kW in 1995. It can be heard across northwest Europe.

Einfelder See
Einfelder See is a lake in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. At an elevation of 26.79 m, its surface area is 1.78 km². It is located in the northern suburb of Neumünster and in the Kreis Rendsburg-Eckernförde. The lake is located on a water water divide of the rivers Stör and Eider. Most of the water originates from groundwater and precipitation, only a small portion reaches the lake from the adjacent Dosenmoor. On the west side of the lake, the nature reserve Westufer Einfelder See is located.

Dat ole Hus ("The old house") is a privately run local history museum in the village of Bünzen in the municipality of Aukrug in Schleswig-Holstein. Its interior rooms portray the living quarters of a farmer from this region from the 18th to the early 20th century.

It is currently operated by Deutsche Bahn, which classifies it as a category 2 station.

Tönsheide Forest
The Tönsheide Forest is a nature reserve near the village of Aukrug east of Neumünster in the north German state of Schleswig-Holstein. The nature reserve has an area of 67 hectares and lies east of Aukrug specialist hospital. Its consists of large areas of near-natural woodland with scattered with areas of heath. In the woods are the source area and upper reaches of the Sellbek.

The Aukrug Nature Park is a nature park in north Germany with an area of 380 square kilometres . It lies in the centre of the state of Schleswig-Holstein in the region of Holstein. It is sponsored by an association formed by the 2 districts.

Battle of Turaida
The Battle of Turaida or Treiden (also known as the Battle on Aa) was fought on June 1, 1298 on the banks of the Gauja River near the Turaida Castle . The Livonian Order was decisively defeated by the residents of Riga allied with the Grand Duchy of Lithuania under command of Vytenis. In 1296 a civil war broke out in Terra Mariana between burghers of Riga and the Livonian Order. Johannes III von Schwerin, Archbishop of Riga, unsuccessfully attempted to mediate the dispute.
