Leine
The Leine is a river in Thuringia and Lower Saxony, Germany. It is a left tributary of the River Aller (and so of the River Weser as well) and 281 km in length. The river's source is located close to the town of Leinefelde in Thuringia. Forty kilometres downriver, the river enters Lower Saxony and runs northwards. Important towns upstream to down along its course are Göttingen, Einbeck, Alfeld and Gronau, before the river enters Hanover, the largest city on its banks.
Ahlden House
Ahlden House is a stately home at Ahlden on the Lüneburg Heath in Lower Saxony, Germany. It was built in 1549 as a water castle on the river Aller, which has since changed its course. Nowadays the three-winged mansion is a private residence and is used as an arts auction house. It is principally known as the place of imprisonment of Sophia Dorothea of Celle, otherwise Sophie Dorothea of Brunswick-Lüneburg, wife of George I of Great Britain and the mother of George II of Great Britain.

Eilvese transmitter was a facility of Transradio AG for intercontinental VLF transmission of telegrams at Eilvese, Germany. It went into service in 1913 and used machine transmitters. There were two antennas: an umbrella antenna, which was mounted in the middle on a 250-metre-tall guyed mast, and at the sides by six 20-metre-tall wooden masts and a ring antenna, which was spun between the central mast and the radial masts.

Steinhuder Meer
The Steinhuder Meer or Lake Steinhude is a lake in Lower Saxony, Germany located 30 kilometres northwest of Hanover. It is named after the nearby village of Steinhude. It has an area of about 30 square kilometres, making it the largest lake of northwestern Germany, but it is very shallow, with an average depth of only 1.35 metres and a maximum depth of less than 3 metres . It lies within a region known as the Hanoverian Moor Geest.
Giebichenstein
The Giebichenstein in Stöckse, Germany, is one of the biggest erratic blocks of Northern Germany. A picture of the Giebichenstein is part of the emblem of Stöckse. There is the supposition, while during Wolstonian Stage the stone was deposited by glaciers as a part of a moraine. Near Giebichenstein there are rests of a dolmen, and at the stone there are rests of a stone age's hunter's camp.
Blankenburg Castle
Blankenburg Castle was a small castle in the village of Engehausen in the municipality of Essel in the German state of Lower Saxony. It dates roughly to the 13th century. All that remains are parts of the surrounding rampart. Today a rural farmstead, formerly a manor house, stands on the site of the old castle. The castle was built on the north bank of the river Aller above the flood plain. Today it lies on a silted-up branch of the old river.
Hodenhagen Castle
Hodenhagen Castle is the site of a former lowland castle (Niederungsburg) built in the 13th century in the vicinity of Hodenhagen in the German state of Lower Saxony. This medieval manor house only lasted just under 100 years and was destroyed in 1289.

Bunkenburg
Bunkenburg was a castle built during the 13th and 14th centuries in the shape of a circular fort located on the banks of the River Aller opposite Ahlden in north Germany. Only a section of the rampart, roughly 60 metres long and 3 metres high, exists today. The name of the castle is probably derived from the material, bog iron, used for its construction and known in common parlance as Bunke.
Blankenhagen Castle
Blankenhagen Castle was a lowland castle (Niederungsburg), whose ruins are located by the River Aller near Grethem in Lower Saxony, Germany. The motte-and-bailey castle is believed to have been built around 1200. It is supposed that there used to be fortified buildings on the two low mounds or mottes, and that a bailey was constructed on an outer island-like area.
Steinhuder Meer Nature Park
The Steinhuder Meer Nature Park (German: Naturpark Steinhuder Meer), with northwest Germany's largest inland lake, the Steinhuder Meer, at its heart, covers an area of 310 square kilometres within the districts of Nienburg and Schaumburg and the region of Hanover. The sponsor of the nature park, founded in 1974, is Hanover Region.

Landestrost Castle
