Asbury Park is a city in Monmouth County, New Jersey, United States, located on the Jersey Shore and part of the New York City Metropolitan Area. As of the 2010 United States Census, the city's population was 16,116, reflecting a decline of 814 (−4.8%) from the 16,930 counted in the 2000 Census, which had in turn increased by 131 (+0.8%) from the 16,799 counted in the 1990 Census.

Tillie is the nickname of two murals of a grinning figure that were painted on the side of the Palace Amusements building in Asbury Park, New Jersey, United States. Tillie is an amusement park "fun face," painted over the winter of 1955-1956. The name Tillie is likely a nod to George C. Tilyou, the owner of Steeplechase Park in Coney Island, NY. A similar grinning face was featured on Steeplechase Park signage.

In 1980, the Empress was featured on the picture sleeve of Bruce Springsteen's hit single "Hungry Heart", which depicts a photo of Springsteen standing near a phone booth on the Asbury Park boardwalk, with the hotel visible in the background.

Down the Street was a popular nightclub in Asbury Park, New Jersey. It opened in the 1970s under the name "Visions". The club was one of the state's first gay discos. The name was changed because it was located down the street from other popular gay clubs. It housed a dance floor, bars, light shows, and of course, drag contests. The club even earned Asbury Park the nicknames "Gay riveria on the East Coast" and "the budget Cherry Grove.

Metropolitan Hotel (Asbury Park)
The Metropolitan Hotel was a 180-room historic structure located at 309 Asbury Avenue in Asbury Park, New Jersey and was one of the last large hotels operating in Asbury Park before it closed in 1989. In September 2007, it was announced that the Metropolitan Hotel had deteriorated to a point in which restoration or rehabilitation was no longer a possibility. The hotel was demolished in early March 2008.

Asbury Park is a railway station in Asbury Park, New Jersey, United States. It is served by trains on New Jersey Transit's North Jersey Coast Line. It is located along Cookman Avenue between Main Street and Memorial Drive. The current Asbury Park station is one of two original Asbury Park stations on the line, the North Asbury Park station still exists, but is no longer a station stop. That former station was located at the Sunset Avenue crossing.

The Saint is a music venue located in Asbury Park, New Jersey. It is reminiscent of places like The Cellar Door in Washington, DC, CB's 313 Gallery (next to the now defunct CBGB), and The Living Room in New York City and features live, original music. The Saint opened on November 18, 1994. It is co-owned by Scott Stamper, founder of the Wave Gathering Music Festival, and Adam Jon Weisberg.
