Plön (district)
Plön is a district in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. It is bounded by (from the east and clockwise) the districts of Ostholstein and Segeberg, the city of Neumünster, the district of Rendsburg-Eckernförde, the city of Kiel and the Baltic Sea.

Selenter See
The Selenter See is the second-largest lake in the North German state of Schleswig-Holstein, after the Großer Plöner See. It lies at an elevation of 37 m above sea level and has an area of 22.4 km². The Selenter See, which lies near the village of Selent in the district of Plön, is 34 m deep. The lake drains into the Baltic Sea through the Hohenfelder Mühlenau, only 10 km long, to the north and by the Salzau to the northwest.
Lanker See
The Lanker See is a lake in the region of Holstein Switzerland in North Germany. It lies south of the town of Preetz in the district of Plön, and is crossed from south to north by the River Schwentine. The Lanker See has wealth of small bays. Almost the entire western area from the lakeshore to the tracks of the Preetz-Ascheberg railway line are a nature reserve. The Lanker See has a surface area of 323.6 hectares, is up to 21 metres deep and is about 19 m above sea level.

The Kronsee is a lake in the Holstein Switzerland region of North Germany. It lies on the River Schwentine between the Kleiner Plöner See, upstream, and the Fuhlensee, downstream, south of Wahlstorf Manor House. It has an area of 23 hectares, is up to 8 metres deep and lies about 20 m above sea level.
Fuhlensee
Fuhlensee is a lake in Holstein Switzerland, in the North German state of Schleswig-Holstein. It lies on the River Schwentine between the Kronsee (upstream) and the Lanker See (downstream), south of Wahlstorf Manor House. It has a surface area of 0.14 km², is up to 6 metres deep and has an elevation of about 20 m above sea level. There is a snack bar on the northern shore for boaters.
Kirchsee (Schleswig-Holstein)
The Kirchsee is a lake in Plön district in Holstein Switzerland, in the North German state of Schleswig-Holstein. The Kirchsee is the lake in the town centre of Preetz. The original settlement of Preetz is situated on its western shore. This is also the location of Preetz's town church, after which the lake is named. The Kirchsee is crossed by the River Schwentine, which flows from the south, from the Lanker See.

Arboretum Lehmkuhlen
The Arboretum Lehmkuhlen (50 hectares) is an arboretum maintained by the Guts- und Forstverwaltung Lehmkuhlen. It is located in Lehmkuhlen, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany, and open by appointment only. The arboretum was created between 1911-1928 by Cosmos von Milde under Conrad Hinrich IV. Freiherr von Donner, who planted approximately 1500 tree specimens from around the world.
Wagria
Wagria (German: Wagrien, Waierland or Wagerland) is the northeastern part of Holstein in the German state of Schleswig-Holstein, corresponding roughly to the districts of Plön and Ostholstein. The word "Wagria" is derived from the Slavic Lechites tribe of Wagri, which meant "those who live by the bays".
Plön Castle
Plön Castle in Plön is one of the largest castles in the north German state of Schleswig-Holstein and the only one located on a hill. The former Residenz of the Dukes of Schleswig-Holstein-Plön was built in the 17th century during the Thirty Years War and has had a colourful history in which it has, for example, been a school for military cadets and also a boarding school.
Lebrade Pond Bird Sanctuary
The Lebrade Pond Bird Sanctuary (German: Vogelfreistätte Lebrader Teich) is a nature reserve in the north German state of Schleswig-Holstein, that lies within the district of Plön, about 7 kilometres north of the town of Plön. The reserve is part of the Holstein Switzerland Nature Park and covers an area of about 144 hectares . It has been designated as a Special Area of Conservation as well as a Natura 2000 region It has a length of 1.7 kilometres and a width of about one kilometre.
Schwentine Oxbow Lake
The Schwentine Oxbow Lake (German: Altarm der Schwentine) is an area around part of the River Schwentine between Raisdorf and Klausdorf that was designated a nature reserve in 1984. It received this conservation status because the waterbody has remained close to its natural state due to its steep river banks and is a habitat for a range of rare plants and animals. It covers an area of 19 hectares .

Parnass Tower
The Parnass Tower is an observation tower in the town of Plön in the North German state of Schleswig-Holstein. It sits on the summit of the low hill of Parnaß. It is a 20-metre-high, steel, lattice tower built on a stone plinth with an observation platform 20 metres above the ground (and 85 metres above sea level). The tower was erected in 1888 by the Plön Tourist Association (Plöner Verschönerungsverein). Following renovation work in 1985 it has been reopened as an observation tower.
St. John's Church, Plön
St. John's Church in the north German town of Plön was built in 1685 when Plön's new town, Neustadt, was developed by Duke John Adolphus as an independent parish church. The timber-framed hall church (Saalkirche) with its three-sided polygonal end was altered in 1861 by the installation of new windows and in 1910 when the interior was changed to the style of Gothic Revival. Neustadt was an independent town until 1847.
Princes' House
The Princes' House in Plön in the North German state of Schleswig-Holstein is a former royal summer residence in the grounds of the park at Plön Castle. It is the only surviving maison de plaisance in Germany. It was given its present name because at the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th century it was used as a residence and school for the sons of the German emperor, William II. At that time it was enlarged with two extensions.
Widow's Palace, Plön
The ducal Widow's Palace in Plön in the north German state of Schleswig-Holstein was the widow's seat of the Duchess Dorothea Christina (Dorothea Christine). During its history the building has also served as an orphanage and was modified several times. Today it houses Plön's district museum.
