Translation from :fr:Île Bigras Île Bigras is the largest of the four islands that make up the Îles-Laval archipelago which is located in the Rivière des Prairies in Quebec. They all are part of the city of Laval since 1965. The 1 km -long Île Bigras was known since 1817 as Île Amesse, after the name of its owner Louis Amesse (different more recent maps have also shown the names Île Boiret and Île Boisvert). The island was bought in 1890 by Émilien Bigras who gave it his name.

The Laval-sur-le-Lac–Île-Bizard Ferry is a seasonal cable ferry near to the city of Montreal in the Canadian province of Quebec. It carries cars, bicycles and pedestrians across the Rivière des Prairies from Laval-sur-le-Lac to the Île Bizard. Technically, the ferry is a reaction ferry, which is propelled by the current of the water. The ferry crosses a distance of 200 m in 3 min, and the ferry boat carries a maximum of 34 passengers and 6 vehicles.
