City of Greater Bendigo
The City of Greater Bendigo is a local government area in Victoria, Australia in the central-western part of the state. It has an area of 3,048 square kilometres. According to the 2011 Census, the local government area has a population of 100,617. The city was formed in 1994 when the former City of Bendigo, the Borough of Eaglehawk and the Shires of Strathfieldsaye, Huntly, Marong and, later, the Shire of McIvor amalgamated under state government reforms.
Campaspe River
The Campaspe River is a river in Victoria, Australia. It was named by Major Mitchell in 1836 for Campaspe, a mistress of Alexander the Great. The river was known as yalooka by the local aboriginal people of the Rochester area.
Bendigo railway station
Bendigo is a railway station in Bendigo on the Bendigo line in Victoria, Australia. Bendigo is the junction for the Echuca and Swan Hill railway lines. The station was rebuilt after being destroyed by fire 24 December 1965. Golden Square railway station is currently not in use and is located between Bendigo and Kangaroo Flat stations. Closed stations on the Echuca line, between Bendigo and Elmore, were Epsom, Huntly, Bagshot, Wellsford, Goornong and Avonmore.
Strathfieldsaye, Victoria
Strathfieldsaye is a suburb of the city of Greater Bendigo in Victoria, Australia. It takes its name from Stratfield Saye House, which was awarded to the Duke of Wellington following his defeat of Napoleon. In the 2006 census, Strathfieldsaye had a population of 3,147. A Strathfieldsaye Post Office opened on 1 January 1864 and a Strathfieldsaye North office on 8 December 1876.
Axedale
Axedale is a small town in Victoria, Australia. It is located on the McIvor Highway, in the City of Greater Bendigo, east of Bendigo. It was surveyed and proclaimed in 1861. At the 2006 census, Axedale had a population of 230. The town is nestled alongside the Campaspe River which feeds out of Lake Eppalock (about 20 minutes drive away). It has a golf course, tennis courts, a school, a pub and a convenience store/petrol station and a small community of artists.

Diocese of Bendigo
The Anglican Diocese of Bendigo comprises much of the central and most of the north-central and north-west regions of Victoria, Australia, roughly the area of Victoria north of the Great Dividing Range and west of the Goulburn River.
